Start-up Guide
The CTI 100.UMTS.WLAN devices communicate with the com.tom
PORTAL via UMTS modem, Wi-Fi or Ethernet. The communication
mechanism has a low data volume and can be integrated easily in
existing network infrastructures.
The device may be put into service and
operated by qualified personnel only.
The device is designed for an installation on a
grounded 35 mm DIN rail in dry rooms.
The power supply of the device must be a
grounded circuit PELV (connection between
functional earth and ground). The power
supply must be a limited power source ac-
cording to the EN60950-1 chap. 2.5 or must
be provided with an anti-surge fuse of 2 A.

Insert the SIM card in the device's rear before the installation on the
DIN rail. The device must be deactivated through this process.
Never use the device in areas where the operation of wireless
equipment is prohibited. You have to ensure that the maximum
permissible emission values are observed when selecting the an-
tennas place of installation (minimum distance of 20 cm to persons
and other antennas).The adherence of the protection against the
lightning norm VDE V 0185 is mandatory when installing the anten-
nas outside. The E.M.C lightning zone concept must be considered.
The device must be deactivated while working with the antennas.
