MALFUNCTIONS AND THEIR RECTIFICATION

Malfunctions can largely be avoided if installation and commissioning have been properly carried
out, if maintenance work is regularly undertaken, and if original Katadyn replacement parts are
used. Only authorized personnel may rectify malfunctions and handle the system whilst
conforming to the relevant safety regulations.
If the measures taken fail to rectify the malfunction, the authorized Katadyn customer service
department should be contacted immediately.

DECOMMISSIONING

Katadyn filters can be taken out of operation for extended shut-down periods without any risk
and can be re-used later. The instructions given in section 6.1 must be observed.
6.1

Decommissioning Procedure

Empty the filter completely. Clean and dry the filter elements.
When dis-assembled, filters must be stored in a non-corrosive, dry atmosphere. During the
storage period, no maintenance is necessary.
A prolonged shut-down period has no effect upon the functional efficiency of Katadyn filter
systems and elements because the systems contain no movable parts.
