4. Connect the charger to battery following the instructions in sections 16, 17 or 18.
5. Connect the charger to the AC power following the instructions in section 19, the
display will be on.
The Error1 LED will be on when:
- the clamps are not connected to the battery
- the clamps are reverse connected
- the vehicle battery voltage is less than 0.5V
6. Select the charging mode by pressing the MODE button and wait for 5 seconds.
The Error1 LED will be on when:
- the battery voltage is less than 1.5V
- in 6V mode, if the charger is connected to above 7.5V battery
- in 12V mode, if the charger is connected to above 14.7V battery
The Error2 LED will be on when:
- for 6V battery, if the voltage is less than 5.5V
or the voltage is less than 6V after repairing with high voltage for 6 hours
- for 12V battery, if the voltage is less than 11V
or the voltage is less than 12V after repairing with high voltage for 6 hours
In case of Error2, the battery is regarded as bad and needs to be replaced.
When charging is complete, unplug the charger from the AC outlet before removing
the clamps.
Charging Stages:
Automatic microprocessor controlled charge.
Stage 1 — Diagnosis: Analysis if the battery can be charged or not, to prevent charging a
defective battery:
If the battery voltage is <0.5V, the charger regards wrong connection and shows
Error1.
0.5V-1.5V is bad battery.
1.5V-12V, it will start the pre-charge stage.
12V-14V, it will start the Constant Current charging stage.
14V-15V is fully charged.
If battery voltage is >15V, the charger regards wrong connection and shows Error1.
Stage 2 — Pre-charge stage: If the battery voltage is 1.5V-12V, the charger will charge the
battery with a small current to charge for better maintenance of the battery.
Stage 3 — Soft start stage: Bulk charging process with a gentle (soft) charging current.
— Use this setting for charging 12 volt batteries
— Use this setting for charging 12 volt batteries in winter.
