Operating Instructions
Energy Monitor 2000
Item No. 1302517
Intended use
The product is used to measure and display the power consumption of electric devices. The measuring
device is connected between the mains socket and the electric device and requires no additional installation.
It is only to be used with standard domestic grounding mains sockets with a nominal voltage of 230 V/AC, 50
Hz. The maximum nominal power of the connected consumer load must not exceed 3680 W (16 A, resistive
load) or 1150 W (5 A, inductive load).
The measuring device is not officially calibrated and therefore must not be used for billing purposes.
Please read the operating instructions carefully and do not discard them. If you pass the product on to a third
party, please hand over these operating instructions as well. Observe all safety instructions and information
within this operating manual.
Any use other than that described above could lead to damage to this product and involves risks such as
short circuits, fire, electric shock, etc. No part of the product may be modified or converted!
This product complies with the applicable national and European requirements. All names of companies and

Explanation of symbols
The symbol with the lightning in the triangle is used if there is a risk to your health, e.g. due to an
electric shock.
The symbol with the exclamation mark in the triangle is used to indicate important information in
these operating instructions. Always read this information carefully.
The arrow symbol indicates special information and advice on operation.
Safety instructions
Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety information.
If you do not follow the safety instructions and information on proper handling in this
manual, we assume no liability for any resulting personal injury or damage to property.
Such cases will invalidate the warranty/guarantee.
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product is not permitted for safety and
approval reasons. Never dismantle the product.
• The product is not a toy and does not belong in the hands of children. It should be operated
out of the reach of children. There is the risk of a fatal electric shock!
• The product may only run on mains voltage (see section "Technical Data"). Never try to oper-
ate the product at another voltage, as this will result in destruction of the product.
• The product is designed in protection class I. Connect it to a mains socket with protective
earth conductor.
• The mains socket to which the product is connected must be easily accessible.
• The product should be used in dry indoor areas; it must not get wet or damp. There is a risk
of a life-threatening electric shock!
• The product should not be exposed to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, intense vibra-
tions or heavy mechanical stress.
• Never switch the product on immediately after it has been taken from a cold into a warm envi-
ronment. Condensation that forms might destroy the product under unfavourable conditions.
Wait until it has reached room temperature before using it.
• Never overload the product. Refer to chapter "Technical Data".
• Only connect one individual consumer to the front socket of the measuring device. Never
connect several consumers at the same time, e.g. via an extension rod.
• Do not connect several measuring devices with each other.
• Never cover the product when it is in use.
• Disconnect the power supply from the power socket if the product will not be used for a while
(e.g. storage). Keep it in a dry, clean, cool place, and out of the reach of children.
• Switch off the mains socket to which the product is connected (switch off at the corresponding
circuit breaker or remove the safety fuse, then switch off the earth leakage circuit breaker).
Then unplug the product from the mains socket. Do not use the product anymore but bring it
to a specialized workshop.
• Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around, since it could become a dangerous
plaything for children.
• Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental falls, even
from a low height.
• Safe operation can no longer be assumed if:
- the device is visibly damaged,
- the device no longer works
- the device has been stored under adverse conditions for a long time
- it was exposed to heavy loads during transport
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer's Liability In-
surance Association for Electrical Systems and Operating Facilities are to be observed.
• Also observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices that are connected
to this product.
• If you have any questions that are not answered in these operating instructions, please con-
tact our technical department or another specialist.
Operation
Connect the measuring device into a mains socket with protective earth so that the display can be seen
easily.
Connect the consumer whose power consumption is to be measured to the socket at the front.
Use the "▼ " button to toggle the following displayed information:
- Current power consumption
- Duration in hours:minutes during which a power consumption of the consumers was measurable
- Energy in kWh (kilowatt-hours)
Pressing the "X" button briefly will delete the duration and energy information.
If unintelligible characters appear in the display, briefly press the "RESET" button with a pen to reset the
measuring device.
Previous data will be maintained in the event of a power cut (or when the measuring device is
disconnected). If a new consumer is to be measured, briefly press the "X" button.
Maintenance and Cleaning
The product is maintenance-free. Repair or maintenance work must be carried out by a specialist.
You can use a clean, dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Dust can be very easily removed with a soft, clean brush
and a vacuum cleaner.
Do not use aggressive, chemical or scouring cleaning agents, as this may lead to discolouration or
changes in the material on the surface.
Disposal
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the household waste.
At the end of its service life, dispose of the product in accordance with applicable regulatory
guidelines.
You thus fulfill your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
