Warning notice
Caution:
• Always wear protective equipment. Helmet, hand, knee and
elbow pads, good shoes with non-slip soles and long clothing to
prevent abrasions.
• Practice skateboarding at appropriate places, avoid sidewalks
or trafficked roads in order to protect yourself and others
against accidents.
• Never allow children under 8 years of age to skateboard unatten
ded.
• Begin skateboarding with the help of a friend or parent, in order
to avoid falls.
• Most accidents happen in the early stages. You should therefore
never ride faster than you can run when you jump off, especially
on steep paths. Always adjust your speed to your riding ability.
• The best way to learn how to fall by rolling off is initially without
a skateboard.
• Avoid wet and bumpy surfaces.
• Jumping on to the skateboard can be extremely dangerous.
• Before you jump off the board, make sure that you will
endanger anyone.
• Allow yourself enough time to learn how to ride the skateboard and
new tricks. In case you lose your balance, simply descend
and try again.
• Be a responsible skateboarder, and always ride with foresight.
A skateboard is not considered a vehicle within the meaning of
the Highway Code, and is therefore not suitable for use as a means
of transport in the public transport sector.
• Self-locking nuts and other self-locking fastening elements may
slacken.

Usage hints / Riding skills
Beginners should place themselves on the tread, so that one foot at
the height of the front wheels is pointing in the direction of travel
and the other foot at the height of the rear axle is pointing transverse,
and you should thereby also bend the knee of the front leg slightly
and burden the foot by slightly shifting your body weight. You should
have patience and should repeatedly practice the correct ascending
and descending, whereby you should always descend towards the
front.
Since you are now able to stand on the skateboard, the focus will now
be turned to riding. You should thereby again work with the shifting
of your body weight by tilting the board along the longitudinal axis
to the right or left. The upper body should thereby remain upright,
and you should only work with the knee and ankle joints, and main-
tain balance with the arms. The front foot should point in the ride
direction, and you should use the rear foot to push yourself forward in
order to gain momentum, you should thereafter then place the rear
foot transversely on the board. Always stand on the board with both
feet, since this provides for optimum safety.
Braking has to be learnt. At a slow speed, the front foot stays on the
board, whereas the rear foot trails on the ground next to the board
and thereby contributes to braking.
In the case of a faster ride speed, you should first use the rear foot to
slow down in the same manner as is the case at a slow speed, and
thereafter likewise also jump with the front foot. You thereby definite-
ly need to keep the skateboard under control, i.e. you should directly
stop it, so that it does not continue rolling further on its own.
Very skilled riders also apply the „wheelie-Stop", whereby the rear
foot is used to press the skateboard firmly on the ground and is it as
such then dragged on the ground until it slows down. Although this
certainly perceived as cool, it however inevitably leads to the wear of
the board.
Curve riding technique: Basic position of the feet should be on the
tread, whereby you should bend your knees a little more and thereby
shift your weight to the right for a right curve and to the left for a left
curve. You should initially practice a left curve several times, thereaf-
ter a right curve several times. Then try to combine the left and right
curves with each other. The size of the radius of the curve depends on
the strength of the pressure that is laterally exerted by you.
