10.2 Mounting of instrument

The unit is designed for either wall mounting or mounting on DIN rails.
Mounting on DIN rails
The unit can be snapped onto the 35 mm DIN rails.
Wall mounting
• Prepare holes for fixing unit according to the diagramme
• Remove cover (2)
• Break through screw holes near terminals (8) with a pointed tool. With this type of mounting, imperviousness of
the unit cannot be guaranteed.
• By means of the support (7), mount the unit with, for example, a wood screw (
cide with the holes for (8) and fix to wall.

10.3 Mains connections

• Mains connections must be made by trained and authorised personnel only.
• This unit is already isolated and therefore grounding is unnecessary.
Permanent installation
• The unit must be protected by an external fuse (max. 10 A) that, if possible, can be sealed.
• Never connect unit to a cable with switches
• Install a circuit-breaker (appropriately marked) near to the unit

• Power supply is connected to the L + N terminals (12)
• After fixing to terminals, check that wires are secure
• Tighten cable port (9)
Using the unit as interface for mobile data acquisition
• Only use flawless mains cable (max. cross-section 1.5 mm
• Introduce cable through PG 9 cable port (for 4-8 mm
• Connect power supply to the L + N terminals (12)
• After fixing to terminals, check that wires are secure
• Fasten the two wires together with a cable tie about 5-10 mm from the terminals
• Tighten cable port (9)

10.4 AMBUS outputs
Please note:
Only use 4-wire cable for power supply and M-Bus (e.g. telephone cable U72, 4x0.8 mm)
• Introduce cable into the PG 7 cable port (cable
• Connect 15 VAC power supply to terminals 62 / 63 (13)
• Connect M-BUS output to terminals 26 / 27 (13). Recommended cable length max. 50 m.
• After fixing to terminals, check that wires are secure
• Tighten cable port (10)
Connect the M-BUS device(s) to the other end of the AMBUS
with the device(s). For this purpose use the Aquametro M-Bus accessories (not included in this packaging)

Commissioning

• Screw terminal cover back onto housing
• After switching on power supply the operating indicator lights up (6)
• The connected M-Bus devices are now working
• Attach a RS232 extension cable (11) between the AMBUS
ports (COM1-COM4) of an IBM compatible computer
• Check that data transfer functions correctly with a suitable Aquametro M-Bus program (e.g. AMBUS
