1. Take the key from the ignition and disconnect the vehicle's negative battery cable.
2. Remove the engine cover from the vehicle . (Fig. 1)
3. Unclip and remove the intake hose from between the air box and throttle body. (Fig. 2)
4. Remove the rubber band securing the air box to the vehicle as shown. (Fig. 3)
5. Remove the breather hose from the air box as shown. (Fig. 4)
6. Carefully remove the air box from the vehicle. (Fig. 5)
Unscrew and
7. remove the radiator cover from the vehicle as shown. (Fig. 6)
8. Carefully expand the flexi cold air hose assembly and pierce/drill 2 holes in one of the plastic ends.

9. On the Focus II: Feed the cold air hose through the rubber next to the radiator as shown. (Fig. 8)
10. On the Focus II: Feed the pierced end of the cold air hose down into the lower front grill and
secure in position using the plastic ties supplied. (Fig. 9)
11. On the C-MAX: Feed the cold air hose down into the front spoiler grille and secure in position
using the plastic ties supplied. (Fig. 9)
12. Secure the flexi cold air hose to the cable harness using a plastic cable tie supplied. (Fig.10)
13. Fit the silicone hose supplied onto the throttle body as shown. (Fig.11)
14. Fit the straight vent adaptor into the intake tube. Fit the plastic intake tube supplied into the silicone
sleeve using the hose clamp supplied. (Fig.12)
15. Remove the end from the plastic breather pipe as shown. (Fig. 13)
16. Fit the original breather pipe into the end of the new breather hose. (Fig. 14)
17. Fit the breather hose onto the vent on the intake tube as shown. (Fig.15)
18. Fit the rubber filter adaptor onto the intake tube as shown. (Fig.16)
19. Fit the filter around the rubber filter adapter using the hose clamp supplied. (Fig. 17)
20. Reconnect the vehicle's negative battery cable.
21. Carry out a final check of the height/alignment of the K&N induction system before starting the
engine. Installation is now complete.

WARNING: Before starting the
engine carry out a final fitment check
of the K&N performance kit. It will be
necessary for all intake systems to
be checked periodically for
realignment, clearance and
tightening of all connections. Failure
to follow the above instructions or
proper maintenance may void the
warranty.
FILTER MAINTENANCE: K&N
suggests checking the filter periodi-
cally for excessive dirt build-up.
When the element becomes covered
in dirt (or once a year), service it
according to the instructions on the
Recharger service kit available from
your K&N dealer, part number 99-
5000 or 99-5050.
