Video VGA Converter
Please read these operating instructions carefully
prior to operation and keep them for later refer-
ence.
1 Applications
This converter is able to convert composite signals
of any video sources (e. g. cameras, video multi-
plexers, video recorders, DVD players or games
consoles) into a VGA signal for display on a PC
monitor.
The converter also features a feed-through out-
put, e. g. to connect a video recorder or an addi-
tional video monitor.
An OSD menu is provided to make settings such
as brightness, contrast, hue, saturation and resolu-
tion.
2 Safety Notes
The units (converter and power supply unit) corre-
spond to all relevant directives of the EU and are
therefore marked with
.
WARNING The power supply unit uses danger-
ous mains voltage. Leave servicing
to skilled personnel only. Inexpert
handling may result in electric
shock.
Please observe the following items in any case:
G
The units are suitable for indoor use only. Pro-
tect them against dripping water and splash
water, high air humidity, and heat (admissible
ambient temperature range 0 – 40 °C).
G
Do not operate the converter and immediately
disconnect the power supply unit from the socket
1. if one of the units is visibly damaged,
2. if a defect might have occurred after a unit
was dropped or suffered a similar accident,
3. if malfunctions occur.
In any case the units must be repaired by skilled
personnel.
G
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth; never use
water or chemicals.
G
No guarantee claims for the units and no liability
for any resulting personal damage or material
damage will be accepted if the units are used for
other purposes than originally intended, if they
are not correctly connected or operated, or if
they are not repaired in an expert way.
If the units are to be put out of operation
definitively, take them to a local recycling
plant for a disposal which is not harmful to
the environment.

3 Mounting and Connection
When mounting the converter, e. g. on a wall, fas-
ten it with screws via its two mounting brackets (3).
When setting it up, glue the rubber feet provided to
the lower side of the housing.
Always switch off the units before making or
changing any connections.
1) Connect the video source to the jack VIDEO IN
(4).
2) Connect the VGA monitor to the jack VGA OUT
(6).
3) If required, connect an additional video monitor
or video recorder to the feed-through output
VIDEO OUT (5). The signal present at this jack
is the same as the one at the input VIDEO IN.
The settings of the converter have no effect on
the signal.
4) Connect the plug-in power supply unit provided
to the low voltage jack "5 V /0.8 A" (7) and to a
mains socket (230 V~/ 50 Hz). Thus, the unit is
switched on; the POWER LED (1) lights up.
