This appliance corresponds to the directive for
electromagnetic compatibility 89/336/EEC and the
low voltage directive 73/23/EEC.
This unit uses dangerous mains voltage (230 V~).
To prevent a shock hazard do not open the cabinet.
Leave servicing to authorized, skilled personnel
only. Furthermore, any guarantee claim expires if
the unit has been opened.
The following points must be observed:
The unit is designed for indoor use only. Protect it
against humidity and heat (admissible ambient

nected to the terminal in the plug which is marked
with the letter N or coloured black.

3 Applications
This stroboscope is suitable for an effective illumina-
tion on stage, in the discothèque, for private parties or
in a shop window. The flash rate can be adjusted be-
tween approx. 1 and 10 flashes per second.
4 Operation
1) Fix the stroboscope via the mounting bracket (2) to
a suitable place with the supplied dowel and screw,
or use the supplied self-adhesive velcro tape for
mounting.
2) Prior to the first setting into operation remove the
protective foil from the protective plate (9).
3) After mounting connect the mains plug of the mains
cable (4) to a mains socket (230 V~/50 Hz).
4) Switch on the unit with the rotary switch (5) and ad-
just the flash rate. The unit can deliver approx. 1 to
10 flashes per second.
5) For exact aligning of the flash, release the two set-
screws (3) of the mounting bracket. Turn the hous-
ing correspondingly, and tighten the screws again –
do not overturn!
6) After the operation switch off the unit with the rotary
switch (5) [counterclockwise].
4.1 Inserting the colour filter
To obtain a coloured flash, four colour filters are sup-
plied with the stroboscope. Select the desired filter,
and remove the protective foil. Put the filter in front of
the protective plate (9) into the support.
Do not screw off the protective plate in any case
and do not operate the stroboscope just with a fil-
ter plate!
4.2 Removing the reflector for an all-round flash
To obtain an all-round flash, the reflector (1) can be
removed.

1) First disconnect in any case the mains plug from
the mains socket.
2) If a colour filter is inserted, remove it.
3) Unscrew the two holding screws (6) for the protec-
tive plate, and carefully pull out the protective plate
(9) upwards.
4) The reflector can now carefully be removed. To
avoid finger prints, only touch the reflector at the
outer rim or use a clean cloth as help.
5) Put the protective plate into the support again and
tighten the screws.
Never operate the stroboscope without protec-
tive plate!
4.3 Replacing the Xenon flashtube
The flashtube has a limited lifetime and has to be re-
placed from time to time. As replacement flashtube,
model FT-50 by MONACOR is recommended.
1) Prior to the replacement of the Xenon flashtube dis-
connect in any case the mains plug! As the flash-
tube becomes very hot during operation, let the unit
cool down for at least 5 minutes after disconnecting
the mains plug.
2) If a colour filter is inserted, remove it.
3) Unscrew the two screws (6) of the protective plate,
and remove the protective plate (9).
4) Pull out the flashtube (8).
5) Do not touch the new flashtube with your fingers!
Grease and sweat from the skin reduce the lighting
power and burn in. Use a soft cloth. Insert the flash-
tube in such a way that its marking points to the
marking spot (7). (If necessary, compare it with the
previous flashtube.)
6) Put the protective plate into the support again and
tighten the screws.
