Camera Outdoor Housing
GB
1
Applications
This weatherproof housing with sunshield and wall
bracket has especially been designed for small CCD
monitoring cameras which operate with a voltage of
12 V . Due to the integrated, temperature-controlled
heating, fogging of the window and the camera lens is
avoided.
2
Important Safety Notes
The outdoor housing corresponds to the directive for
electromagnetic compatibility 89/336/EEC.
To ensure a reliable operation of the entire monitor-
ing system, mounting of the outdoor housing and
the connection of the camera to be installed should
only be carried out by authorized technical per-
sonnel.
If the outdoor housing is used for other purposes
than originally intended, if it is not correctly installed,
or not repaired by technical personnel, no liability
can be assumed for any possible damage.
If the outdoor housing is to be put out of operation
definitively, it must be disposed of in a local re-
cycling plant.

Installation
1) For an easier handling, screw off the wall bracket
(6) by loosening the setscrew (5) of the hinge from
the housing (1).
2) Open the housing by loosening the two hexagonal
screws (8) at the rear side.
3) Remove the rear side, and at the same time pull
the inside and outside sledges (2 + 3) out of the
housing.

3.1 Mounting of the heating
1) Loosen the mounting screw (9) of the inside sledge
(3), and move the sledge to the side.
2) Place the supplied heating element (10) into the re-
cess (14) of the inside sledge and tighten the screw
according to fig. 2.
3) Pull the supplied insulating hose on the connection
wires of the heating element. Place the wires with
the hose into the guide rail (15) and pull them
through the drill hole (16) to the upper side of the
sledge.
4) Tightly screw the supplied connection plate (13),
also see fig. 4, on the inside sledge (3) according to
fig. 2.
5) Connect the wires of the heating element to the
screw terminals HEATER.
3.2 Mounting of the camera
1) Tightly screw the camera by means of one of the
supplied screws (11) and distance pieces (12) on
the inside sledge (3) according to fig. 2. According
to the camera type, different distance pieces are
necessary.
2) Guide the supply voltage for the camera from the
terminals OUT of the mounted connection plate (13)
to the camera. Observe in any case the correct
connection of the positive and the negative poles. In
case of wrong polarity the camera may be damaged.
3) Align the inside sledge (3) again in parallel to the
outside sledge (2), and tighten the mounting
screw (9).
3.3 Establishing the internal connections
1) Put the video cable of the camera through one of
the cable inlets (7). For this screw off the corre-
sponding screw cover of the cable inlet, and pierce
the rubber sealing according to the cable diameter.
Place the screw cover on the video cable, pull the
cable through the cable inlet, and tighten the screw
cover.
2) Connect the video cable with the video output of
the camera.

3) Pull the common voltage supply cable for the cam-
era and the heating through the second cable inlet.
4) Connect the voltage supply cable with the termi-
nals IN of the connection plate.
Attention! As the heating is operated with the supply
voltage of the camera, a camera must be installed
which operates with 12 V . When connecting the
supply voltage observe in any case the correct po-
larity (see positive and negative markings in fig. 4).
3.4 Mounting of the outdoor housing and setting
into operation
1) Tightly screw the wall bracket (6) at a suitable
place.
2) Screw the outside sledge (2) on the wall bracket
again.
3) Connect the voltage supply cable to the voltage
source and the video cable directly or via a video
splitter or camera switcher to the monitor. Switch
on the entire monitoring system.
4) Align the camera to the monitoring area by means
of the tilt/turn hinge (4). If necessary, adjust the
distance and the iris of the camera. Only then slide
the housing (1) on the inside and outside sledges
and screw it to the rear side.
5) After definitively aligning the camera, tighten the
setscrew of the hinge (5).
