Relay Circuit Board REL-PCB 7
Item-No. 58 54 98 with Relay 5 V/DC
Intended Use
The relay circuit board is used to connect to the GSM module GX106 (order no. 196666). A con-
nection can be made easily by using the screw contacts on the circuit board. The maximum
switching capacity must not exceed the capacity stated in the technical specification.
The assembly must be installed completely in a casing, where it is protected from accidental
physical contact.
Assembly and commissioning should only be carried out by a specialist who is familiar with the
relevant regulations and the resultant risks.
Installation on DIN rails is also possible by using optional supplementary components (a list of
optional accessories can be found at www.conrad.com).
If several relay circuit boards are assembled on a sub-module carrier board, spacers (item no.
503340 33 40) must be used due to the lack of space and to comply with the Electronics safety
regulations.
Please, also take note any additional safety information in these instructions.
Safety Instructions and Hazard Warnings
An exclamation mark in a triangle indicates important instructions in the
operating instructions. Please read all the instructions before using this
device, they include important information on its correct operation.
• The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe these safety
instructions! We do not assume any liability for any consequential damage!
• We shall not accept liability for damage to property or personal injury caused by incorrect han-
dling or non-compliance with the safety instructions! The warranty will be void in such cases.
• For safety reasons and to maintain the official (CE) approval, it is not permitted to rebuild
and/or modify this board.
• Make sure that the assembly is put into operation correctly. Therefore, please follow the oper-
ating instructions carefully.
• The assembly must not be installed in/on easily flammable materials.
• Do not operate this assembly in environments with flammable gasses, dust or vapours.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer's Liability
Insurance Association for Electrical Systems and Operating Materials are to be observed.
• In schools and training centres as well as at hobby and DIY workshops, the use of boards must
be supervised by adequately trained personnel in a responsible manner.
• Never pour any liquids above the assembly. There is the risk of the assembly will be damaged.
• The assembly must not be exposed to extreme temperatures, strong vibrations or high
humidity.
• If you have reason to assume that safe operation is no longer possible, disconnect the device
immediately and secure it against inadvertent operation. It can be assumed that safe opera-
tion is no longer possible if:
- there is visible damage to the device or to the connection cable,
- the device does not operate any longer and
- if parts of the assembly are loose.
• The relay board is not a toy and should be kept out of the reach of children.
Start up and operation
To ensure the correct set-up and operation, please read the operating manu-
al and the safety notes carefully before use!
You may only connect the assembly when it is disconnected from the voltage
supply. Make sure that all circuit board components and connecting leads are
not carrying any power.
Connecting the relay board
The relay coil voltage of 3.5 - 5 V/DC is connected at the terminal strip marked "IN". The polari-
ty is not important.
Connection of the switch contacts is done via the the terminals "NC/NO/CO".
NC = switching output "Normally Closed Contact". Closed in idle state.
NO = relay switch output "Normally Open Contact". Opened in idle state.
CO = common switch contact.
The switching capacity specifications can be obtained from the technical
description.
Installation
Observe the appropriate regulations during installation (physical protection) and the safety
notices in these operating instructions.
The assembly has to be installed protected from physical contact and must not operated
openly.
