b) Standalone cloning
You can create up to 3 backups of a source drive without connecting to a computer.
Important
• Make sure the drive containing your data is in the bay marked "Source", and the
empty drive(s) in a bay marked "Target".
• Make sure you back up any important data on the "target" drive(s) before cloning.
• The target drive should have a larger capacity than the source.
• Moving the station during operation can damage connected drives and/or cause
loss of data.
• Format drives before use. Choose the MBR format for drives ≤ 2 TB, and GPT for
drives > 2 TB.
• Press RESET or restart the station each time you switch modes: Clone ↔ PC.
1. Connect one end of the power adapter to the DC power input on the station, and the other
end to a power outlet.
Make sure the USB cable is not connected. Cloning will not begin if it is attached.
2. Insert the drive containing your data into the Source bay.
3. Insert the empty drive(s) into an available Target bay(s).
4. Set the mode switch to Clone.
5. Press the
button to turn the power ON. The station will perform a self check then beep
twice to indicate it is ready to clone.
6. Press the START button twice to begin cloning.
- The LED status indicator will flash blue and red during cloning.
- Three short beeps will indicate cloning complete, and all LED status indicators will remain
on.
7. When finished using, press the
8. Remove any connected drive(s).
