Placement
The product is only intended to be placed and used in dry indoor rooms, it must not
get damp or wet.
The floor lamp must not be installed and used in a bathroom or near a shower,
swimming pool etc.
Danger to life due to electric shock!
The floor lamp must be placed on an even, firm, horizontal and sufficiently large surface, other-
wise the floor lamp may tip over.
Place the cable so that nobody can trip over it.
Start-up
Plug the mains plug into a mains socket (230V~/50Hz) after installation.
The on-/off- switch of the lamp (with integrated dimmer) is located on the top.
Turning the switch clockwise switches on the lamp and the light intensity increases. To reduce
the intensity, turn the switch anti-clockwise. Keep on turning the switch anti-clockwise until a click
is heard, the lamp is switched off.
Replacing the Light Source
The lifetime of fluorescent lamps is normally longer than that of normal light bulbs. However, it
has to be considered that switching the fluorescent light on and off frequently can reduce its life-
time considerably.
Proceed as follows to replace the light source:
First, disconnect the floor lamp from the mains voltage, pull the plug out of the
mains socket!
• Remove the transparent plastic
cover.
To do this, insert a flat screw-driver
between the housing and cover
and carefully pry out the cover.
Do not use force, since the cover
and the lamp housing will be
damaged.
• Release the light source by turning
it 90° to the right or to the left.
Afterwards, you can remove it
carefully.
Protective caps attached to the
ends of the fluorescent tube only
serve visual purposes (to cover the
ends of the tube).
Do not use force when pulling out
the fluorescent tube, otherwise it
can break.
• Afterwards, insert a new light (T5, max. 54W), proceed in
reverse order.
If there were protective caps on your floor lamp's light (may
not be present in your version of the floor lamp), attach them
to the new fluorescent tube correctly.
Insert the light completely into the light fitting, top and bottom,
and lock the fluorescent tube in place by turning it 90° either
to the left or to the right.
Do not use force when turning, otherwise the light may be
damaged!
Finally, the cover has to be replaced so that it snaps in place.
Only use the floor lamp with the cover fully closed!
• The floor lamp can now be connected with the mains and put into operation.
Handling
• The floor lamp is only designed for use in dry indoor rooms, it must not get damp or wet, lethal
danger of an electric shock! Follow the safety instructions and the other information in this
operation manual.
• Never look directly into the light, when it is lit, as this can (just as with other lights) cause eye
damage!
• Ensure that the insulation for the entire product is neither damaged nor destroyed. Do not open
or dismantle the housing (except when it is necessary to replace the light source, see above).
• Check the product for damage before use! If you notice any damage, do not use the floor lamp
any longer, disconnect it from the mains, pull the plug out of the mains socket.
Any maintenance or repair work must only be carried out by authorised personnel.
Safe operation must be presumed to be no longer possible:
- if the device is visibly damaged
- if the device no longer works
- if the device was stored under unfavourable conditions for a long period of time or
- if it was exposed to extraordinary stress caused by transport
Maintenance and Care
Apart from occasionally cleaning the product and changing the fluorescent tube, it is mainte-
nance-free.
Clean the product with a soft, clean and dry cloth. Never use aggressive cleaning agents or
chemical solutions, these affect the surface of the housing (e.g. discolouring).
Disposal
Please dispose of the device when it is no longer of use, according to the current
statutory requirements.
The fluorescent light is special waste and has to be disposed of accordingly! It must
not be disposed of in the domestic waste!
