Cooking rice
1. Measure the rice. One cup of uncooked rice corresponds with 2 bowls of cooked rice. Do not exceed
the quantities indicated on the compartment. You can process up to 8 cups of uncooked rice with
this rice cooker.
2. Wash the rice thoroughly. Use another container for washing in order to avoid damage to the com-
partment's non-stick coating.
3. Add the washed rice into the compartment.
4. Fill with water to the marking in the compartment, corresponding to the cups of rice. Smooth the
surface of the rice. For example, if you cook 4 cups of rice, fill with water to the marking for 4 cups.
Warning: the level indicator on the inside of the compartment is only indicative; you can vary the
quantities of water according to the rice variety and your individual taste)
5. Press the release button and open the lid using the handle.
6. Place the compartment into the rice cooker. Ensure that contact between the compartment and the
heating plate is maintained. Ensure that the compartment's outside is clean and dry and that there
are no residues on the heating plate or the magnetic switch.
7. Close the lid oft he rice cooker and plug the power plug into the outlet. The operation indication lights up.
8. Push the slide switch down to start the cooking process.
9. After the end of the cooking process the operation indication goes out and the „Keeping warm"
indication switches on automatically.
10. Open the lid and stir the rice. Best results will occur when you stir the rice directly as soon as the
"Keeping warm" indication has switched on. Close the lid again securely in order to keep the rice
warm. Stirring helps the steam to escape which makes a particularly light rice.
11. By using the steaming unit you can steame some vegetables at the same time while the rice is cooking.
Steaming
The steaming function may be used solely combined with the cooking function.
1. Follow the steps 1–6 described in the last preceding paragraph „Cooking rice". When measuring the
rice ensure to leave enough space for the steam peeler.
2. Add the ingredients, which you would like to steam onto a plate or directly into the steam peeler.
In order to guarantee even cooking distribute the foods in the most uniform manner possible, do
not accumulate them in one location.
3. Place the steam peeler onto the rice into the compartment.
4. If you use a plate, place it into the steam peeler.
5. Close the lid securely.
6. Follow the steps 7 and 8 described in the last preceding paragraph „Cooking rice". When the rice is
cooked, also the steamed foods are finished off.
7. Open the lid and carefully take the steamed foods off the plate or the steam peeler. Use an pot holder
or tea towel, since the plate and the steam peeler are very hot. Warning of hot steam.
