The SAT finder is used to locate satellites and to align satellite antennas.
The SAT Finder is only approved for connection to standard satellite components such as SAT
antenna, SAT receiver, SAT multi-switch).
Any use other than that described above could lead to damage to this product and involves the
risk of short circuits, fire, electric shock, etc.
No part of the product may be modified or converted. The safety instructions must be observed

a) General information
• For safety reasons, any unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the prod-
uct is not permitted.
• The product may not be subjected to extreme temperatures, strong vibrations,
heavy mechanical strain, direct sunlight or high degrees of humidity.
• Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impact, blows, or accidental
drops, even from a low height.
• The manufacturer or supplier will assume no responsibility whatsoever for incor-
rect displays or the consequences resulting from an incorrect display. Do not use
the product in situations in which professional measuring technology is required.
• Numerous regulations have to be observed when assembling/installing satellite
systems (e.g., safety, lightning protection, etc.). A satellite system should there-
fore always be installed and maintained by an expert, who is familiar with the
relevant risks and regulations.
• Knowledge of the accident prevention regulations is essential for the installa-
tion and maintenance of satellite systems. When installing or servicing satellite
systems, ensure a safe stand and sufficient weight-bearing capacity of ladders
and similar equipment (have this secured by a second person, if applicable).
When working on satellite systems, wear slip-proof shoes and suitable clothing.
It may be necessary to secure the installation site (e.g., wear safety belts). In the
interests of your own safety, you must always comply with the safety instructions.
• This product is not a toy and must be kept out of the reach of children.
• Do not leave packaging materials unattended. It may become a dangerous play-
thing for children.
• Please consult a specialist if you are uncertain about the correct operation, or
regarding the safety of the product.
• Also observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices that are
connected to this device.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer's
Liability Insurance Association for Electrical Systems and Operating Facilities are
to be observed!
Connection and operation
In order to prevent short circuits unplug the satellite receiver and any multi-
switches from the power supply (pull the power plug) before connecting the
Sat finder. Avoid short-circuits or overloading the connected F connection
cable or the SAT Finder input "To-LNB", otherwise the SAT Finder or the con-
nected receiver may be damaged.
Do not position the SAT Finder directly in front of the satellite dish, this causes the
LED level indicator to always deflect full scale.
When the LED level indicator jumps to the highest value of the scale means that the
receiver signal is too high for the SAT Finder. In this case, reduce the sensitivity of
the SAT Finder by turning the level control counter-clockwise. If this is insufficient to
regulate a medium indicating range, if you are using a high-capacity LNB with high
amplification (> 60 dB) or a satellite antenna that is larger than 1 m, you should con-
sider interposing an additional level controller between the LNB and the SAT Finder
(attenuation controller 0 - 20 dB).
• Connect the LNB output to the "LNB" connector of the SAT finder.
• Connect the "REC" connector of the SAT Finder with the antenna input of the satellite
receiver (often marked with "IF INPUT").
• Check that the connection is done correctly and plug the mains plug of the SAT receiver into
a wall outlet and turn the receiver on.
• Direct the satellite antenna approximately towards the desired satellite. You can find the
correct setting value for height and side angle in the satellite antenna's operating instruc-
tions, the Internet or professional literature.
• When the LED level is at full scale, turn the LED level control counterclockwise until only
2-3 LEDs are on. It may be necessary to repeat this process several times while adjusting
the satellite antenna.
• Now align the SAT antenna precisely and in such a way that as many LEDs as possible
are lit on the LED level indicator. The more LEDs are on, the higher the signal tone of the
acoustic level indicator.
• Once the satellite antenna is optimally set, fix it in place (observe the manufacturer's in-
structions).
• Unplug the mains plug of the satellite receiver and remove the SAT Finder from the antenna
path.
• Reconnect the LNB directly with the satellite receiver or restore the original wiring.
• Check the picture quality on the TV and whether the right satellite is accessed. You have to
redo the setting procedure, if the wrong satellite was located.
Checking the 22 kHz conversion signal
• The indicator "22 kHz on" goes on as soon as a 22 kHz signal is present.
• The 22 kHz signal is generally used to switch an LNB from the lower (analogue) frequency
band to the upper (digital) frequency band.
Maintenance and cleaning
• This device is maintenance-free.
• Clean the exterior of the device only with a soft, dry cloth or brush. Do not use aggressive
cleaning agents or chemical solutions; this may damage the surface of the case.
Disposal
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the house-
hold waste. At the end of its service life, dispose of the product in accordance with
applicable regulatory guidelines.
You thus fulfill your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the envi-
ronment.
