Safety instructions
Read the operating instructions
carefully and especially observe
the safety information. If you do not
follow the safety instructions and
information on proper handling in
this manual, we assume no liability
for any resulting personal injury or
damage to property. Such cases will
invalidate the warranty/guarantee.
The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach
of children and pets.
Do not leave packaging material lying around
carelessly. These may become dangerous play-
ing material for children.
Operating elements
Protect the product from extreme temperatures,
direct sunlight, strong jolts, high humidity, mois-
ture, flammable gases, vapours and solvents.
Do not place the product under any mechanical
stress.
If it is no longer possible to operate the product
safely, take it out of operation and protect it from
any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer
be guaranteed if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor
ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-
related stresses.
Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, im-
pacts or a fall even from a low height can dam-
age the product.
Also observe the safety and operating instruc-
tions of any other devices which are connected
to the product.
Correct polarity must be observed while inserting
the (rechargeable) batteries.
(Rechargeable) batteries should be removed
from the device if it is not used for a long period
of time to avoid damage through leaking. Leak-
ing or damaged (rechargeable) batteries might
cause acid burns when in contact with skin,
therefore use suitable protective gloves to han-
dle corrupted (rechargeable) batteries.
(Rechargeable) batteries must be kept out of
reach of children. Do not leave (rechargeable)
batteries lying around, as there is risk, that chil-
dren or pets swallow them.
All (rechargeable) batteries should be replaced
at the same time. Mixing old and new (recharge-
able) batteries in the device can lead to (re-
chargeable) battery leakage and device damage.
(Rechargeable) batteries must not be disman-
tled, short-circuited or thrown into fire. Never
recharge non-rechargeable batteries. There is a
risk of explosion!
Attention, LED light: Do not look directly into the
beam of light! Do not look into the beam directly
or with optical instruments!
Consult an expert when in doubt about opera-
tion, safety or connection of the device.
Maintenance, modifications and repairs are to be
performed exclusively by an expert or at a quali-
fied shop.
If you have questions which remain unanswered
by these operating instructions, contact our tech-
nical support service or other technical person-
nel.
Operation
a) Using the 2.4 GHz receiver
1. Remove the wireless receiver labelled „2.4 GHZ"
from the receiver dock at the rear side of the
mouse. It has a USB-A connector.
2. Insert it in a free USB port on your computer.
b) Inserting batteries
1. Remove the battery compartment cover on the
rear side of the mouse.
2. Insert two Type AAA/Micro batteries with cor-
rect polarity into the battery compartment of the
mouse (observe plus/+ and minus/-).
3. Close the battery compartment.
In principle, it is possible to operate the
mouse with rechargeable batteries. Due
to lower voltage (rechargeable battery =
1.2V, battery = 1.5V) and lower capacity
of rechargeable batteries, the operating
time is shorter than with batteries. There
is also a probability of reduction in radio
range. If you wish to use rechargeable
batteries in spite of these limitations, it
is imperative that you use special NiMH
rechargeable batteries with low self-dis-
charge. We recommend that you prefer-
ably use high quality alkaline batteries to
ensure long and safe operation.
Replace the batteries every year at
least.
c) Connecting the mouse
1. Switch on your computer. After inserting the bat-
teries, the transmitter and receiver connect auto-
matically using FSK Auto-Link technology. When
the connection is established, the operating
system installs the necessary drivers. A pop-up
message confirms successful installation.
2. You can now control your computer by moving
the scroll wheel and clicking the mouse buttons.
The optical sensor on the rear side of
the mouse does not operate correctly on
some surfaces, e.g. on glass or shiny,
reflective surfaces. In such cases, use a
suitable mouse pad or another surface.
d) 3-stage energy saving function
The mouse has an energy saving function with 3
stages. If the mouse is not activated for approx.
12 seconds, it switches to energy saving mode
with a current flow of up to 0.38 mA. This drops to
0.25 mA after 30 seconds. After 8 minutes of no
activity, the LED switches off and the current flow
drops to 160 µA. To wake up the mouse, press
any button or move the scroll wheel.
The mouse switches off if a transmission signal is
no longer received. If necessary, remove the 2.4
GHz receiver to use this energy saving function.
Insert it in the receiver dock on the rear side of
the mouse as the receiver is very small and can
be easily lost.
