clingbetrieb.

Power Capacitor
Please read these operating instructions carefully prior to
the installation and keep them for later use.
1
Applications
The power capacitor is used in motor vehicles for stabiliz-
ing the 12 V supply voltage for power amplifiers of high
power and equalizes the load of the electric system of the
car in case of especially powerful, low bass frequencies.
This results in a higher power of the amplifier and a con-
siderable sound improvement.
2
Safety Notes
The capacitor corresponds to the directive for motor
vehicles and has been tested under the number
e13 021286.
WARNING
The connection of the capacitor to the 12 V
mains must only be made by qualified, spe-
cialized personnel. Special care has to be
taken. In case of short circuits there may be
dangerously high currents.
The capacitor must be mounted to a mechanically stable
place in the car. It must be skilfully fixed so that it does
not work loose and turn into a dangerous projectile.
Protect the capacitor against humidity, and excessive
temperatures (admissible ambient temperature range
-20 °C to +60 °C).
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth, never use chemi-
cals or water.
No guarantee claims for the capacitor and no liability for
any resulting personal damage or material damage will
be accepted if the capacitor is used for other purposes
than originally intended, if it is not correctly installed, or
not repaired in an expert way.
If the capacitor is to be put out of operation defin-
itively, take it to a local recycling plant for a dis-
posal which is not harmful to the environment.

Installation
me des Kondensators anschließen.
andere Spannung anzeigen. Mit dem Trimmpotentiometer

Installation
The cables between the capacitor and the power amplifier
should be as short as possible and show a large cross sec-
tion*. Lay the cables so that their insulation may not be
damaged.
1) Tightly screw the capacitor with the brackets (7) as
close as possible to the power amplifier.
2) Connect the negative terminal (1) of the capacitor via a
cable to the ground of the car. To avoid a ground loop,
choose the same place at which also the power ampli-
fier is connected to ground.
3) Connect a cable with a sufficient cross section* to the
positive pole of the car battery.
As a protection against short circuits always insert a
fuse* close to the battery (fig. 2).
For the first charging, connect in any case the posi-
tive cable of the battery to the positive terminal (2) of
the capacitor via the supplied incandescent lamp to
prevent damage due to excessive current peaks.
4) After charging, if the display value (4) does not increase
further, remove the lamp and connect the positive cable
of the battery directly to the positive terminal of the
capacitor. Lay another cable from the positive terminal
of the capacitor to the supply voltage connection of the
power amplifier.
It is recommended to discharge the capacitor after dis-
mounting to prevent any damage due to accidental short
circuit: After disconnecting the capacitor from the battery
connect the supplied incandescent lamp to the terminals of
the capacitor until the lamp is extinguished.
4
Acoustic and Visual Indications
The LEDs (5) flash when the capacitor is charged/dis-
charged. From a certain voltage value the lighting ring (6)
lights up and the display (4) shows the value.
An alarm sounds in case of reverse polarity of the
capacitor. In case of undervoltage (< 10 V) a signal sounds.
4.1 Fine adjustment of the voltage display
If several capacitors are connected in parallel, each indi-
vidual capacitor may indicate a slightly different voltage
due to tolerances. With the trimming potentiometer (3)
