Bitte lesen Sie diese Anleitung vor dem Betrieb gründ-
lich durch und heben Sie sie für ein späteres Nach -
lesen auf.
1 Verwendungsmöglichkeiten
Der FEX-2 saugt den beim Löten entstehenden Rauch
an und filtert durch ein Aktivkohlefilter die Schadstoffe
heraus. Somit werden Reizungen der Augen und
Atemwege verhindert.
2 Hinweise für den sicheren Gebrauch
Das Gerät entspricht allen relevanten Richtlinien der
EU und ist deshalb mit gekennzeichnet.
WARNUNG Der Absauger wird mit lebensgefähr-
lich hoher Netzspannung versorgt.
Nehmen Sie deshalb niemals selbst
Eingriffe am Gerät vor. Durch unsach-
gemäßes Vorgehen besteht die Gefahr
eines elektrischen Schlages.

Der Absauger ist nur zur Verwendung im Innenbe -
reich geeignet. Schützen Sie ihn vor Tropf- und
Spritzwasser, hoher Luftfeuchtigkeit und Hitze
(zulässiger Einsatztemperaturbereich 0 – 40 °C).

Stellen Sie keine mit Flüssigkeit gefüllten Gefäße,
z. B. Trinkgläser, auf das Gerät.
GB Soldering Fume Extraction System
Please read these operating instructions carefully prior
to operating the unit and keep them for later reference.
1 Applications
The FEX-2 extracts the fume occurring during solder-
ing work and filters the hazardous substances by an
activated carbon filter. Thus, irritation to the eyes and
the respiratory system are prevented.
2 Safety Notes
The unit corresponds to all relevant directives of the
EU and is therefore marked with
WARNING The extraction system is supplied with
hazardous mains voltage. Leave serv-
icing to skilled personnel only. Inexpert
handling or modification of the unit may
cause an electric shock hazard.

The extraction system is suitable for indoor use
only. Protect it against dripping water and splash
water, high air humidity and heat (admissible ambi-
ent temperature range 0 – 40 °C).

Do not place any vessels filled with liquid, e. g.
drinking glasses, on the unit.
G
Do not set the unit into operation, and immediately
disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket if
1. there is visible damage to the unit or to the mains
cable,
2. a defect might have occurred after a drop or sim-
ilar accident,
3. malfunctions occur.

Nehmen Sie das Gerät nicht in Betrieb und zie hen
Sie sofort den Netzstecker aus der Steckdose,
1. wenn sichtbare Schäden am Gerät oder am Netz-
kabel vorhanden sind,
2. wenn nach einem Sturz oder Ähnlichem der Ver-
dacht auf einen Defekt besteht,
3. wenn Funktionsstörungen auftreten.
Geben Sie das Gerät in jedem Fall zur Reparatur in
eine Fachwerkstatt.

Ein beschädigtes Netzkabel darf nur durch eine
Fachwerkstatt ersetzt werden.

Ziehen Sie den Netzstecker nie am Kabel aus der
Steckdose, fassen Sie immer am Stecker an.

Verwenden Sie zum Reinigen nur ein trockenes,
weiches Tuch, niemals Wasser oder Chemikalien.

Wird der Absauger zweckentfremdet, falsch bedient
oder nicht fachgerecht repariert, kann keine Haf-
tung für daraus resultierende Sach- oder Personen-
schäden und keine Garantie für den Absauger über-
nommen werden.
Soll der Absauger endgültig aus dem Betrieb
genommen werden, übergeben Sie ihn zur
umweltgerechten Entsorgung einem örtlichen
Recyclingbetrieb.

A damaged mains cable must only be replaced by
skilled personnel.

Never pull the mains cable to disconnect the mains
plug from the mains socket, always seize the plug.

for other purposes than originally intended, if it is not

Important for U. K. Customers!
The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accor-
d ance with the following code:
green/yellow = earth, blue = neutral, brown = live
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this
appliance may not correspond with the coloured
markings identifying the terminals in your plug, pro-
ceed as follows:
1. The wire which is coloured green and yellow must
be connected to the terminal in the plug which is
marked with the letter E or by the earth symbol ,
or coloured green or green and yellow.
2. The wire which is coloured blue must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter N or coloured black.
3. The wire which is coloured brown must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter L or coloured red.
Warning – This appliance must be earthed.

3 Inbetriebnahme
1) Den Absauger möglichst nahe der Lötrauchquelle
aufstellen. Die zwei seitlichen Feststellschrau-
ben (3) lösen und den Neigungswinkel des Gerätes
optimal einstellen. Die Feststellschrauben wieder
festdrehen.
2) Den Netzstecker in eine Steckdose (230 V~ / 50 Hz)
stecken und das Gerät mit dem Netzschalter (1)
einschalten.
3) Nach dem Beenden der Lötarbeiten den Absauger
ausschalten.
4 Filterwechsel
Lässt die FIlterwirkung nach, den Aktivkohlefilter aus-
wechseln. Beim täglichen Betrieb unter normalen Be -
dingungen wird empfohlen, den Filter nach einem
Monat auszuwechseln. Passende Ersatzfilter sind
unter der Be zeichnung FEX-2F (2 Filter) erhältlich.
1) Den Netzstecker des Absaugers aus der Steck-
dose ziehen.
2) Das Haltegitter (2) für den Filter oben anfassen,
etwas nach oben drücken und dann aufklappen.
3) Den Filter austauschen und das Haltegitter wieder
hochklappen, sodass es einrastet.
Änderungen vorbehalten.
If the extraction system is to be put out of
operation definitively, take it to a local recy-
cling plant for a disposal which is not harmful
to the environment.
3 Setting into Operation
1) Place the extraction system as close as possible to
the soldering fume source. Release the two lateral
setscrews (3) and adjust the inclination angle of the
unit in an optimum way. Retighten the setscrews.
2) Connect the mains plug to a socket (230 V~ / 50 Hz)
and switch on the unit with the mains switch (1).
3) After terminating the soldering work switch off the
extraction system.
4 Filter Replacement
If the filter effect decreases, replace the activated car-
bon filter. For daily operation under normal conditions
it is recommended to replace the filter after one month.
Matching replacement filters are available under the
designation FEX-2F (2 filters).
1) Disconnect the mains plug of the extraction system
from the socket.
2) Seize the holding grid (2) for the filter at the top,
slightly push it upwards and then fold it up.
3) Replace the filter and fold the holding grid up again
so that it locks into place.
