Rocar
„rocar" is a low-priced speed controller offering the functions for-
ward, neutral, dynamic brake and reverse. It is designed for electric-
powered model cars and boats with 540-size standard and hotter
motors drawing up to 20 Amps (approx. 17...36 turns).
Features
BEC
Integral receiver power supply
hec
High pulse frequency for fine proportional con
trol. Avoids premature magnet degradation.
POR
Power-on guard, prevents accidental motor start-up
TP
Thermal overload protection
PCO
Low-voltage power-off
Rx filter
Switches off the controller if the signal fails or is invalid.
aps
Automatic programming system, only the neutral
position has to be programmed.

Safety notes
!
- Keep within the limits stated in the Specification.
- Do not connect the battery with reverse polarity.
- Take care to connect the motor power leads with correct polarity.
- It is essential to avoid short-circuits.
- Fit effective suppressors to the drive motor.
- Provide good air circulation.
- Ensure that the controller cannot come into contact with grease,
oil or water.
Connections
Connect the Rx lead attached to the controller to the appropriate
receiver channel.
If you are using a separate receiver battery, i.e. not the BEC cir-
cuit, the red wire at the controller plug („S") must be with drawn
and the contact insulated.

Using the controller for the first time, programming
1. Switch the transmitter on.
2. Move the throttle stick to the neutral position. In terms of stick
travel, the neutral position should not be more than 25 % from
the stick centre position with the trim neutral. This ensures that
the controller will reliably reach its full-throttle positions for forward
and reverse.
3. Connect the 6-7 cell drive battery.
Programming is complete if the red LED is off, and the motor is sta-
tionary at the programmed neutral position. If this is not the case,
disconnect the drive battery, adjust the neutral position and connect
the drive battery again.

Motor connection
The neutral position must always be set before you connect the drive
battery!
The LED will glow steadily when the speed controller is operating in
forward mode; in reverse mode the LED flashes. When you move
the throttle stick in the forward direction, the speed controller must
be in forward mode (steady light). If not, reverse the throttle channel
using your transmitter's servo reverse facility.
Ensure that the motor is running in the „forward" direction
when the speed controller is in forward mode. If this is not the
case, swap over the power leads at the motor terminals to avoid
the controller overheating.

Functions
Forward, neutral, dynamic brake, reverse
Cell count
6-7 cells
Motor current 20 A average current for one full battery charge
(2400 mAh)
BEC
5 V, 2 ... 3 servos
Dimensions
41 x 47 x 26 mm

Note
- When you leave the forward range, the reverse range operates
briefly as a proportional brake.
- The motor is switched off if radio interference, low voltage or
excessive temperature occur. You can switch the motor on again
by changing the throttle stick position (reverse - forward).
Disposal
This symbol means that it is essential to dispose of electri-
cal and electronic equipment separately from the domestic
refuse when it reaches the end of its useful life. Take your
unwanted equipment to your local communal collection
point or recycling centre. This applies to all countries of
the European Union, and to other European countries with separate
waste collection systems.
CE Conformity Declaration
This device has been assessed and approved in accordance with
European harmonised directives. This means that you possess a
