• The rechargeable battery should be removed from the device if it is not used for a long period
of time to avoid damage through leaking. Leaking or damaged rechargeable batteries might
cause acid burns when in contact with skin. Therefore use suitable protective gloves to handle

Operation
Do not install or operate the product under water.
Make sure you choose an installation site from which the product cannot fall, as failure to do so
may cause damage to the product and/or personal injury.
• Place the product at a site with good lighting conditions so the solar module can charge the battery during
daylight hours. Make sure that the solar module is not covered or shaded, i.e. by trees or buildings.
• Flip the product open. Select a suitable installation site (i.e. the edge of a sunshade or marquee). Make
sure that the solar module faces upward. Carefully fold up the product. Due to the built-in magnet, the
product clamps securely to the installation site.
• When using the product for the first time, it will take about 2 days of sunlight to fully charge the battery.
• Subsequently, the rechargeable battery will take approx. 12 hours to be fully charged. A fully charged
rechargeable battery will operate the solar light for about 8 hours.
• Turn the solar light on/off by pushing the on/off switch located on the side of the product. When turned off,
the switch sticks out from the housing slightly farther.
The rechargeable battery is charged whenever sunlight falls on the solar module, regardless
of the switch position. This means that the rechargeable battery will be charged even when the
product is turned off.
The solar light turns on automatically when the lighting level drops below 20 lux.
Version 11/13
The solar light turns off automatically when the lighting level exceeds 200 lux.
• The LEDs can be swiveled. Apply light pressure to the outer area of the transparent LED cover to adjust
the beam of light's direction.
• Turn off the product using the on/off switch and remove the battery (see following segment) for extended
periods of disuse.
Replacing the rechargeable battery
• Replace the rechargeable battery when the luminous period diminishes noticeably although the
rechargeable battery is fully charged.
• Make sure the product is turned off and then flip the product open.
• The rechargeable battery is located in the same side of the housing as the LED unit. Use a Phillips
screwdriver to loosen the six screws. Turn the product over. Carefully remove the LED unit. Take care not
to sever any internal cable connections.
• Remove the rechargeable battery. Insert a new, identical rechargeable battery (see "Technical data") into
the rechargeable battery recess. Heed correct polarity ("+" = positive, "–" = negative).
• Reassemble the product.
Maintenance and cleaning
• The product does not require any maintenance except for potential rechargeable battery replacement or
occasional cleaning. Turn off the product and allow the LEDs to cool down sufficiently.
• To clean, use a clean, dry, lint-free cloth. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water. Allow the
product to dry completely before continued use.
• Never use any aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions as they may cause damage to the
housing or the product to malfunction.
