Operating Instructions
Intended Use
The Hydrogen-pH-electrode pHydrunio intended only for measure-
ments of pH in a range from pH– 2 to16.
pHydrunio is delivered with acitvated hydrogen cells. But you must
fill in the inner buffer solution (comissioning).
Safety Information
The electrode is intended only for the above purpose.
The manufacturer is not liable for damage resulting
from improper use.
Observe the following instructions, otherwise the
electrode may be damaged or measurements results
be falsified.
When working with chemicals, all relevant safety regu-
lations of the manufacturer and the laboratory must be
observed.
Comissioning
Please do not remove the labelling with the serial number and the
sticker with the activation date.
Storage
After the measurements rinse pHydrunio thoroughly with water.
Store pHydrunio in calibration buffer pH 7 if you do not measure.
Calibration
First, the pH-electrode is checked in the calibration buffer pH 7
(Gaskatel).
Note the temperature as well as the measured voltage.
Then rinse the pH-electrode and the temperature probe
well with water and place it in the calibration buffer with pH 2.0.
Note the temperature as well as the measured voltage.
Calculation measured potential to – pH-value
The measured voltage U of can be converted into the pH value as
follows:
−
E in Volt
=
pH
+
273 15
,
Temperatur in Celsius
Runtime of Hydrogen cells
Pay attention to the runtime of the hydrogen source. This ist 12
month. Once the end of runtime has been reached, pHydrunio must-
no longer be stored in liquid.
Replace the hydrogen cells immediatly.
Troubleshooting
Make sure all cables are connected correctly.
Check whether the connections are corroded or damp.
Note the runtimes of the hydrogen button cells! If necessary, re-
place them.
Check whether you are measuring in the correct calibration liquid.
Replace the reference electrolyte.
Atmospheric oxygen distorts the hydrogen potential. Therefore
leave pHydrunio in air for a maximum of 5 seconds.

Disposal
The electrode must not be disposed of as household waste. Please
dispose of the electrode in a separate collection for electrical and
electronic equipment according to local regulations. If you have
