MICROPHONE SET
Complete Drum Microphone Set
The DSM-500 microphone set was designed for professional studio recording and live applications and is
suitable for sound pick-up of percussion instruments. The exceptional frequency response of the
KDM-500 is specially designed for kick drums and other low-frequency musical instruments. The small
BDM-500 is ideal for tom-toms and snare drums, and the electret microphones IM-500 go well with the
sound of cymbals and acoustic instruments like pianos and guitars. The electret microphones operate on
48 V phantom power.

Safety Instructions
Maintenance and service operations are only to be carried out by authorized dealers. Damage
caused by manual modifications on these devices are not subject to warranty. If the microphones are
used for other purposes than originally intended or if they are not correctly connected, the products
may suffer damages and the guarantee becomes void.
Protect the devices against humidity and heat. The ambient temperature must always be between -5°
C and +45° C. The relative humidity must not exceed 50 % with an ambient temperature of 45° C.
Setting into Operation
Screw each microphone holder onto a stand with 3/4" or 5/8" thread. Insert the microphones (IM-
500) from above.
Connect the dynamic microphones KDM-500 and BDM-500 via balanced microphone cables with
3-pin XLR plugs to the XLR microphone inputs of your audio unit (e.g. mixing console).
Connect the electret microphones IM-500 via balanced microphone cables with 3-pin XLR plugs to
the XLR microphone inputs equipped with +48 V phantom power of your audio unit (e.g. mixing
console). If the audio unit does not provide any phantom power, connect the microphones to the audio
unit via a phantom power supply unit (e.g. OMNITRONIC LH-051).
For voice recordings with the IM-500, use the supplied windshields to protect the capsules from
moisture.
Cleaning and Maintenance
For cleaning the microphones only use a soft lint-free and moistened cloth. Place the supplied small
bags containing moisture-absorbing crystals on top of the microphone heads afterwards. Make sure
not to allow any water to enter the devices and never use any solvent cleansers.
