b2 Means alarm level is set at 0.20‰ BAC
(= 0.020% BAC or 0. 1 00mg/L)
b3 Means alarm level is set at 0.30‰ BAC
(= 0.030% BAC or 0. 1 50mg/L)
b5 Means alarm level is set at 0.50‰ BAC
(= 0.050% BAC or 0.250mg/L)
= default setting
b8 Means alarm level is set at 0.80‰ BAC
(= 0.080% BAC or 0.400mg/L)
2. Breath sampling
After the sensor initialization, "BLOW" flashes for about
25 seconds together with beep tones and the device is ready
to test. Please carry out the measurement within this period.
Blow continuously and without interruption through the
mouthpiece for about 5 seconds, a long beep tone sounds
continuously while blowing. Tip: Blow like you would whistle
without a tone (but without a break).
Only stop blowing when the beep tone stops together
and when the dynamic progress bar is full displayed (see
images below). When you hear two beep sounds and feel

the vibration of the motor, the breath sample was success-
ful and the test result will be displayed accordingly. The
following pictures show the dynamic progress bar display
on the display while blowing:
• The device will put itself off automatically, if the user
fails to start the blowing test within 25 seconds.
• "Err" will be displayed when the blowing process is
interrupted. You need to start a new test. If the test
was successful you will see the test result
(see e.g. the right image below).
• As soon as the test result or „Err" is shown on the
display, you can press the Power button for a new
test. If you keep pressing the button for 2 seconds,
the device is put off.
• When "Err" or the test result is shown on the display,
the device will put itself off automatically if there' s no
any operation within 30 seconds.
• As soon as the test result is shown on the display, you
can press the „M" button to switch the measurement
units between mg/L, ‰ BAC or % BAC. The next test
result will be shown in the unit
you chose at last. The default setting of a new device
is ‰ BAC (g/L = per mill).
• When the test result is shown on the display, you can
review the last test records (up to 10 records can be
saved). Just keep pressing the „M" button for
2 seconds.
