In case this is the first time you have ever installed a safety mirror, it is highly recommended to read this manual carefully before
installing it and not to rush to the installation.
General Information and Usage Guidelines
The safety convex mirror SCM-60o can be used both outdoors and indoors. It is mainly installed outdoors. It can be installed in traffic areas where blind
spots can cause crashes and generally in places where visibility is considered to be low, in shops to prevent theft, in parking lots, in garage areas, in
outposts etc.
The mirrors are made out of special unbreakable polycarbonate material with high resistance regarding shocks and the ability to maintain the high
quality of its reflective surface in the long-run. Their brackets are appropriate for mounting on poles with an outer diameter of 48mm (±2mm). The
brackets are adjustable towards all directions achieving an ideal placement and full field of view of the area. At the top of the mirror, there is a rim
(visor), which protects the mirror surface from bad weather conditions (hail, rain etc).
The back of the mirror is made out of hard bright – colored plastic material so that the mirror can be highly visible.
The 60cm – diameter mirror provides visibility at a distance of 0 – 16 m.
Installation instructions
Preliminary checks: Make sure that the area is appropriate in terms of the mirror size and dimensions (p 1) and that installing the product there is safe
and easy. Make sure you have all the equipment needed for the product installation (2 wrenches 13mm) – p 2. Make sure that the pole the mirror will be
mounted on has an outer diameter of 48mm (±2mm).
Package: When receiving the product, make sure that the packaging is intact. In the opposite case, contact the shop where you bought the product. The kit
includes the convex mirror, two support brackets, four screws connecting the support brackets and the mirror, two arms and four screws with four nuts for
the connection between the arms and the pole – p 3.
Mounting the support brackets: Place the two brackets at the back of the mirror so that they form a "T" and the holes coincide – p 4. Place the four screws
connecting the support brackets with the mirror – p 5 – and tighten them using the wrench 13mm – p 6.
Placing the arms: Connect the two arms so that their back part forms a circle and the holes of the other part coincide with the holes of the support base – p
7. Place the four screws and the four nuts included in the kit – p 8, 9. Screw, but not tighten, the nuts.
Placing the mirror on the pole (the pole is not included in the package): Place the mirror on the pole – p 10. You may have to further screw the nuts– without
tightening them – in order for the mirror to be adequately mounted on the pole.
Removing the protective film: Remove the protective cover to reveal the reflective surface of the mirror – p 11. Using a slightly sharp item (like a coin's
edge) make a tiny opening in the protective film on the edge of the mirror's reflective surface, while being careful not to scratch it. Then, pull the
protective film and the opening will be larger. Continue pulling the protective film untill the whole reflective surface of the mirror is revealed.
Adjusting the mirror inclination: Find the most suitable angle of inclination of the mirror by rotating it horizontally (to the left/right) or/and vertically
(up/down). When defined, tighten the nuts of the screws mounting the mirror (p 12) on the pole and the ones connecting the support brackets and the
arm – p 13 – using two wrenches 13mm. If the angle needs to change, untighten them, rotate the mirror to the new position and tighten them again.
Maintenance
The convex mirror requires little maintenance. Check periodically the screws mounting the mirror on the pole and tighten them if needed. Check
periodically the screws connecting the support brackets and the arm and tighten them if needed. Clean periodically the reflective surface using a slightly
wet soft piece of cloth. Don't use rough cloth to avoid scratching the mirror surface. Don't use cleansers containing organic solvents like gasoline,
acetone, alcohol etc.
Warnings
- Make sure that the installation and use of the product are in compliance with the current local legislation.
- Do not use the product for other applications than those described above or under different conditions from those specified in this manual.
- Replace the product if damaged in such way that it cannot be adequately mounted on the structure.
- Replace the product if the reflective surface has deteriorated.
- If the mirror is hit and broken into pieces, sharp edges may appear on the plastic parts. In such case, handle the product using protective gloves.
- The material of the product is not self-extinguishing.
Product Disposal
The convex mirror, mounting material and the packaging (plastic, steel, paper) can be recycled. In case of permanent disposal, send the material to certified
recycling centers.
Guarantee
This product comes with a 2-year guarantee starting from the date of the purchase.
This guarantee is valid only in case there is a partial or full failure that results from a manufacturing error, faulty material or faulty production process. The
following are not covered by the guarantee:
- Product usage different from the one described in this manual.
- Misuse, abuse, mishandling, misapplication, failure to apply the installation guides.
- Normal wear and tear.
- Damage due to natural destructions, vandalism, crashes or inappropriate product maintenance.
- Exposure to corrosive and very saline environmental conditions
The maximum compensation included in this guarantee is limited to the product value and price.
The manufacturer reserves the right to change and improve the product without prior notice.
