- Turn the plastic housing to access the
battery.
- Remove the used battery from its holder.
- Connect the new battery while ensuring
that the polarity is correct.
- Fit the plastic housing back into place, in
the closed position.
- Close the device.
Check for correct operation.
The device is permanently on standby.
Correct operation check
Press the TEST button for a few seconds to check that the device is in good working
order: The following signs show that the device is operational:
- the red LEDs start flashing
- there is an intermittent audible signal.
Releasing the TEST button triggers the time-controlled switching (about 2 minutes)
of the green LEDs.The red LEDs and buzzer are deactivated.
No voltage checks
- Secure the detector onto an insulating stick according to the IEC specifications
61243-1 (recommended stick CM-4600), C, K or W end-stick, suitable for the
network to be checked.
- Check for operation beforehand.
- Bring the detector electrode into contact with the network to be checked.
The rated voltage present will be signalled as follows:
- The red LEDs start flashing
- You will hear a continuous audible signal. The lack of any red light and audible
signals confirms that there is no voltage.
- Complete the operation by performing a new correct operation test.
Maintenance – storage – transport
The CC-265 detector is a safety device that requires no specific maintenance.
Simply keep it clean and always put it back in its case for transport and storage
after use it. If necessary, the voltage detector can be cleaned with a wiping cloth
(Ref.: MO-984). If a malfunction arises, replace the battery, and return the unit to
CATU if the problem remains.
Maintenance and routine maintenance
The owner is responsible for preparing the maintenance and routine verification
plan. CATU recommends that no voltage detector should be used without being
checked within a 6-year period, when used occasionally. When used frequently, the
device should be checked at shorter intervals.
