Enable the control unit to run the device learning procedure. Refer to the control unit instruction manual for details.
Hold the Test button on the front cover pressed.
Refer to the instruction manual of the control unit to complete the learning process.
After having integrated the detector, set the control unit to "Walk Test" mode: keep the detector in the required position
and press the Test button to confirm that the concerned position is within the communication range of the control unit;
see the instruction manual of the control unit to complete the learning procedure.
Proceed with the installation after having ascertained that the detector is working in the desired position.
Mounting method
The detector was designed to be mounted on a flat surface or in a corner using the fixing screws and the anchor bolts provided. The
hole arrangements are provided on the base where the plastic is thinner and may be broken for mounting. The two hole arrangements
are used to fix on a surface, while the four hole arrangements are used for fixing in a corner, as shown in the following figure.
Surface mounting
I.
Remove the fixing screws and the cover.
II.
Perforate the appropriate hole arrangements on the inner side of the base.
III. Using the template for the holes, make the holes in the surface.
IV. Insert the anchor bolts if the device is fixed to plaster or bricks.
V.
Screw the base into the anchor bolts.
VI. Screw the cover onto the base.
Corner mounting:
I.
Perforate the four arrangements for corner holes.
II.
Using the holes as a template, make the holes on the surface.
III. Insert the anchor bolts.
IV. Screw the base into the anchor bolt.
V.
Screw the cover onto the base.
Installation
Choose the position of the detector, i.e. either in a corner or on a surface.
After having selected the installation position, follow the procedure described above to mount the detector.
Press the Test button to enter Test mode. Move in the protected area and observe when the LED lights up to check that
the detection coverage is adequate.
Installation is complete when the detection coverage is appropriate.
Installation advice
The detector was designed to operate on a range of 12 meters if mounted at a height of 1.9 metres and with an area in which small
animals will not be detected (Pet Immunity function) which reaches up to 7 m.
If installed higher, the Pet Immunity range can be extended but, in this case, carefully check the blind area in which there will be no
detection because an intruder in this area could go undetected.
It is advised to install the detector in the following positions:
Mount the detector at a height of 1.9-2.0 metres to optimise performance:
Select a position in which an intruder would normally cross the field of vision of the detector from one side to the other.
Mount it in a corner to have the widest view possible.
Mount it where the field of vision is not obstructed, e.g. by curtains, ornaments etc.
Restrictions
Do not position the detector directly facing a door protected by the door contact because the wireless signals of the door contact
and of the detector could be transmitted in input at the same time, causing the signals to cancel each other out.
Do not install the detector fully exposed to direct sunlight.
Do not install the detector in areas in which devices which could cause sudden changes of temperature in the detection area
are present, such as air conditioning units, radiators etc.
Avoid large size obstacles in the detection area.
Do not point directly towards source of heat, such as fires or boilers, and do not install over radiators.
Avoid moving objects in the detection area, i.e. curtains, soft furnishings etc.
