ENGLISH
IRP600 is a detector with passive infrared (PIR) motion sensor capable of detecting movements in an assigned area and indicate
them to the control unit to activate the intrusion alarm. The base of the product is provided with holes for installing it on a flat surface
or in a corner. The detector has a single tamper switch which is activated when the lid is opened. Furthermore, it can send a warning
to indicate a communication problem or flat battery conditions. The detector was designed to operate with a detection range of 12
metres when it is mounted at 2 metres from the ground.
This version also allows use in presence of small and medium-sized animals, within 7 meters of range, without these generating
alarms.
Component identification
1. Test/Learning button and LED indicator
The Test button is used to test wireless communication performance and to carry out the learning procedure
of the device by the control unit. The LED indicator is used to indicate the system state.
2. Battery isolator
3. Pulse counter/sensitivity up jumper (JP3)
- If the jumper is set to OFF (if the jumper connection is removed or positioned on only one pin),
the detection sensitivity is at normal level.
- If the jumper is set to ON, the detection sensitivity of the detector is maximum (default).
4. Tamper switch
The tamper switch protects the detector from unauthorised opening of the cover.
Sleep Time
The detector has a "sleep time" of approximately 1 minute to save energy. After having transmitted a detected
movement, the detector will not transmit again for 1 minute; any further movements detected during the sleep
period will extend the sleep period by another minute. In this way, continuous movements in front a detector
will not drain the battery unnecessarily.
Supervision function
If the function is enabled, when the detector is in normal operation mode, it runs a periodically self-diagnostic
test, transmitting a supervision signal at constant intervals.
A supervision alarm is generated if the control unit does not receive supervision signals transmitted by a given
detector for a predetermined time.
Sensitivity Increaser function
This function can be used to increase detection sensitivity. To increase detection sensitivity, connect the Jumper (JP3) or use position
ON. Use position OFF to maintain normal sensitivity.
Test mode
The detector can be set to Test mode by pressing the Test button on the front cover for a few seconds. In Test mode the sleep timer
will be deactivated and the LED indicator will blink whenever motion is detected. Whenever the Test button is pressed, the detector
transmits a test signal to the control unit to test the wireless communication range and goes to Test mode for 3 minutes. It automatically
exits Test mode after 3 minutes and goes back to normal mode.
LED indicator
In normal operating mode, the LED indicator blinks to indicate that signals are being transmitted in the following situations.
When movement is detected in flat battery conditions.
When the cover is opened and the tamper switch is actuated.
When movement detected if the tamper alarm condition persists.
When motion is detected in Test mode.
When the Test button is pressed in tamper alarm conditions or if the battery of the detector is flat.
The LED does not blink if the tamper switch and the battery detector are normal and not in Test mode. The LED blinks rapidly twice
to confirm reception by the control unit.
Battery
The motion sensor is powered by a CR123A lithium battery. The detector can detect low battery state. When a flat battery is detected,
a signal is sent to the control unit together with the normal signal transmission for the control unit to view the corresponding state.
The battery is installed at the factory with the isolator inserted.
<NOTE>
While replacing the batteries, after having removed the flat batteries, press the tamper button twice to discharge the
device completely before inserting the new batteries.
Preparation
Extract the battery isolator to activate the battery.
The LED will blink for 30 seconds (the detector is being initialised). During initialisation, the detector will not be activated.
It is advisable not to generate any alarms during this time. Once the initialisation time has finished, the LED will switch off
and the detector is ready to start working.
