IMPORTANT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

When using electrical appliances, certain basic safety precautions must be followed, including the following:
-
Read all of the instructions carefully, even if you already know how to operate the appliance.
-
Never immerse the sandwich toaster or the power cord in water or other liquids.
-
Keep a close watch on the appliance when it is being used by or near children. Never leave the sandwich toaster
unattended when it is plugged into the mains.
-
Do not touch the hot surface. Use the handle to move the appliance.
-
Make sure that the appliance is turned "OFF" and unplugged from the mains when it is not in use. Allow to cool
before picking it up, removing parts or cleaning.
-
Make sure that the power cable does not touch any hot surfaces on the sandwich toaster. If the power cord is cut
or damaged, it must be replaced by an original spare part by an authorised technical service.
-
Do not use scouring pads, caustic cleaning products or oven cleaners to clean the appliance.
-
Do not place the appliance on or near a hot gas or electric cooker or in a hot oven.
-
This appliance is for domestic use only. Do not use in the open air or leave in damp areas.
-
Make sure that there is sufficient clearance around and above the appliance for air circulation when it is being used.
It is recommended to protect surfaces that may be damaged by the heat with a heat-insulating table mat.
-
Do not use the appliance for any purpose other than that for which it has been designed.
-
This product must not be used by children or by other people without assistance or supervision if their physical,
sensory or mental condition limits safe use of the appliance. Children must be watched to make sure that they do
not play with the appliance.
-
If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its authorised technical service centre or
by a qualified technician in order to avoid hazards.
KEEP THESE INSTRUCTIONS
THIS PRODUCT IS FOR DOMESTIC USE ONLY!
THE SANDWICH TOASTER MAY SMOKE A LITTLE WHEN IT IS USED FOR THE FIRST TIME. THIS IS NOT A FAULT.
THE NORMAL MANUFACTURING PROCESS INCLUDES THE USE OF OILS. THE SMOKING WILL STOP AFTER A
FEW MINUTES.
USING THE SANDWICH TOASTER FOR THE FIRST TIME
-
Open the sandwich toaster by moving the latch in the centre of the handle.
-
Remove or clean any oil that may remain on the toasting plates.
-
This operation is only necessary when using for the first time.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

-
Plug into the mains.
-
Close the top of the sandwich toaster. To preheat, turn "ON" and wait for about 3 minutes.
-
The correct operating temperature will have been reached when the red light extinguishes.
-
During use, the operating light will turn on and off. This indicates that the thermostat is working correctly.
-
To obtain well-toasted sandwiches, we recommend lightly smearing the outer surface of the bread with butter, that is,
the filling will be placed between the sides without butter. If you decide not to do this, you may find that it is necessary
to grease the toasting plates with margarine, butter or oil after toasting a certain number of sandwiches.
-
Place the sandwiches in the sandwich toaster and close the top gently but firmly until it clicks into position. Do not
force the top down.
-
Leave the sandwich to toast for about two minutes. The toasting time depends on individual preference. The sandwich
toaster will toast both sides of the sandwich at the same time and will seal in the filling. In most cases, the sandwich
will be cut in half by the separator or will need gentle pressing by a knife to separate the halves. Sandwiches with
"hard" fillings such as wholemeal bread or very thick sandwiches may need to be cut outside of the toaster.
-
Although the plates are coated with a non-stick material, some fillings may melt, causing the sandwich to stick to
the plates. To release the sandwiches, use a plastic or wooden spatula.
-
Never use a sharp object such as a knife as this may damage the non-stick coating.
WARNING: The plates may become very hot during use. Be very careful when using the sandwich toaster.
