• The national installation regulations must be observed
during the assembly.
• If installing without a refilling combination (NK300S) upst-
ream of the refilling unit (VE300S), provide a shut-off
fixture
7.2. Assembly instructions
The national installation regulations apply during the
assembly.
Provide shut-off fixture to ensure that cartridges can be
replaced.
1. Thoroughly flush pipework
2. Install refilling unit (VE300S) and mount using wall
bracket
• Install in horizontal pipeline
• Note flow direction (indicated by arrow)
• Install without tension or bending stresses
3. Screw cartridge (see accessories) into refilling unit
(VE300S) and tighten by hand

8.1. Measuring the water hardness
1. Before installation, the total hardness measuring instru-
ment provided should be used to measure the water hard-
ness in order to set the electronics module.
Observe the information in the instruction manual of the
total hardness test-kit
8.2. Pre-rinsing and bleeding cartridge
1. Place bucket under system
2. Open shut-off valve on inlet
3. Open bleeder valve
4. Drain out water via bleeder valve
• approx. 5 l with P300-S
• approx. 15 l with P300-L and P300-LES
5. Close bleeder valve
6. Check cartridge for leaks
8.3. Setting up the electronics module
1. Take out electronics module
2. Insert batteries
3. Reattach electronics module
4. Set electronics module, see Operation chapter
8.4. Filling up the system
1. Slowly open shut off valves on inlet and outlet
2. Fill/refill heating system according to standard
3. To rule out the possibility of uncontrolled refilling, after
filling the system, close the shutoff valves!

9.2. Control keys
Various menu items can be accessed from the control keys.
The menu items can be paged through by repeatedly pres-
sing the corresponding control key.
The active menu item is indicated by the selection fields in the
display.
The selection is confirmed by hovering over the active menu
item for more than 3 s.
