1. Safety Guidelines

1. Follow the installation instructions.
2. Use the appliance
• according to its intended use
• in good condition
• with due regard to safety and risk of danger.
3. Note that the appliance is exclusively for use in the appli-
cations detailed in these installation instructions. Any
other use will not be considered to comply with require-
ments and would invalidate the warranty.
4. Please take note that any assembly, commissioning,
servicing and adjustment work may only be carried out by
authorized persons.
5. Immediately rectify any malfunctions which may influence
safety.
6. Treated water has changed chemical corrosion parame-
ters. Above and beyond these water treatment measures,
the right planning, installation, commissioning and opera-
tion of the heating system in line with relevant standards
and/or Honeywell requirements must be ensured.
7. If the drinking water is heated via the heating circuit, with
category 4 or 5 liquids, any elements making contact
must also have double walls. Demineralised water corre-
sponds to category 2 in accordance with EN 1717
Appendix B.
8. Water drawn from the bleeder valve must not be used as
drinking water.

2. Description of function

The refilling unit (VE300S) installed directly downstream of
the refilling combination (NK300S) serves to soften/demine-
ralise the water and to record the rinse, fill and refilling quan-
tities. For softening, it follows the ion exchanger principle and
replaces the alkaline earth metals in the water (e.g. calcium
and magnesium) with sodium ions.
Complete demineralisation will completely remove the
mineral deposits in the water!
The preferred method is a low-salt operation without
additives. The rinse, fill and refilling quantities can be
read at any time using the integrated electrical water
meter with "smart" operation.

5. Scope of delivery

• Hardness test-kit to determine water hardness

7. Assembly

It is necessary during installation to follow the installation
instructions, to comply with local requirements and to follow
the codes of good practice.
7.1. Installations Guidelines
• Installation in heating system intake
• Install at height of at least 610 mm from the ground to
ensure that cartridges can be replaced
• Downstream of the refilling unit (VE300S), provide settling
section of at least 500 mm before integration in the heating
circuit.
• Installation in horizontal pipe with cartridge connection
facing down
• The installation may not take place in areas or ducts where
poisonous gases or vapours may be present or where floo-
ding can occur
• The installation environment should be protected against
frost and ventilated well
• The installation location has to be easily accessible
- Simplified maintenance and cleaning
• In accordance with DIN EN 1717, in the direction of flow
first install the refilling combination (NK300S), then imme-
diately downstream the refilling unit (VE300S)
