Installation instructions
Voltage power pack for
modular equipment series
gesis RM B
A. Important information - please read carefully
This memorandum describes the installation of the voltage power pack for the modular
equipment series
.
gesis RM
• Due to the given class of protection, type of enclosure and its holding fixture,
this device must be installed in a
gesis RAN
• All electrical installation work and connections are only to be made by a quali-
fied and trained electrician!
• The necessary regulations (for example EN 50090-2-2) are only fulfilled if the
equipment has been effectively and specifically processed as a final product.
The instructions, valid standards, regulations and safety stipulations and the
ESD directives are to be observed when processing further.
• To be also observed are the valid safety and accident prevention regulations!
With voltage loopthroughs, the 16 A maximum current must not be exceeded.
B. Function description
The voltage power pack is necessary for operating the basic module and over and above
this to operate the extension modules. In this case the power pack had been designed
and constructed to ensure that in the case of a peak load (simultaneous switching of
all connected relays) the basic module and extension modules will continue to function
reliably and safely.

E. Module exchangement
1. Make sure that the module is not under voltage.
2. Remove the ribbon cable from the front of the unit.
3. Slacken off the connections on the terminal strip.
4. Loosen the knurled screws in the gesis RAN housing (see figure below)
