Connection of these instruments to this type of rotor is only possible by using an extra
resistor.
With reversed connections the windspeed indicator will indicate zero only!
In case of doubt connect first the rotor to the meter and check the functioning before final
installation.
MHWSD822
The rotor/vane-unit has been set so
that the meter indicates a wind
angle of zero degrees (resp. North)
when the vane is in line with the
tube of the rotor/vane-unit. In most
applications the rotor/vane-unit will
be mounted on top of the mast
pointing towards the bow. In which
case the meter will indicate
0 degrees for wind dead on the
bow and 90 degrees for a wind on
the starboard beam, etc.
If the rotor/vane-unit is mounted at an angle to the fore and aft of the boat (resp. at an angle
to the North-South direction) then rotate the knurled portion of the rotor/vane-barrel until
the meter shows zero when the vane is pointing dead ahead.
N.B. Do not rotate the knurled portion further than 180 degrees from its original setting. If
you need to go further than 180 degrees, reverse the process by going back through zero.

Connection of these instruments to this type of rotor/vane-unit is only possible by using an
interface. Vetus article code: EP7856.
For instruments, to be connected in another way as indicated in the diagram, note that:
- With reversed connections of the wind direction indicator the instrument will not function
properly, but no damage will be caused!
- With reversed connections of the windspeed indicator this meter will indicate zero only!
In case of doubt connect first the rotor/vane-unit to the meter and check the functioning
before final installation.
