1.3 Warnings
The equipment must not/should not be used:
- EN12941 Blower with Hood
If the blower is switched off or turns off during use. In this unlikely case, the equipment does not offer protection; additionally,
there is a danger of fast accumulation of carbon dioxide in the headboard with a following lack of oxygen. The hazardous area
has to be left immediately.
- EN12942 Blower with Full-Face Mask
If the blower is switched off or turns off during use. If the blower turns off unintentionally, or the power supply is interrupted,
it should not be taken of because the blower still functions as vacuum device. Leave the surrounding of the hazardous area
immediately and report the defect.
o At difficult breathing.
o If you recognise the smell or taste of pollutions.
o If you feel dizziness, nausea, or other types of unease.
o Filter devices must not be used if the surrounding conditions (type and concentration of hazardous substances) are unk-
nown. In case of doubt, self-contained breathing apparatuses, which function independently of the surrounding atmosphere,
have to be used.
o In environments which are directly life threatening and harmful to health (IDLH).
o Filter devices must not be used in unventilated, narrow rooms (e.g. containers, tanks, mines, canals) due to possible occur-
rence of lack of oxygen or heavy oxygen displacing gases (e.g. carbon dioxide).
o When using a filter device, the oxygen concentration of the surrounding air has to be at least 17% vol. (the threshold can
vary according to national regulations).
o In atmospheres with oxygen or oxygen-enriched air.
o The blower and the accessory must not be used in areas with danger of explosion.
o If you are unsure about the choice and operations of the equipment, please contact your supervisor or the point of sale.
1.4 Limitations
-Only qualified persons, who are absolutely aware of the work-related dangers and are familiar with the use and operations
of the device, may use the product.
- Only filters, which are approved by e-breathe, may be used. The use of other filters is not allowed and can lower the protec-
tion class.
- The blower always has to be used with at least one particulate filter or with two combination filter of the same time, when
connected with accessory.
- One gas filter does not protect against specific gases such as CO (carbon monoxide), CO2 (carbon dioxide), or N2 (nitrogen)
and nitrogen oxide.
- Particulate filters against radioactive substances and microorganisms (viruses, bacteria, fungus and their spores) should only
be used once.
- Gas and combination filters have to be exchanged when recognizing smell or taste.
- When working with open flames or liquid metal drops, the danger exists that alcohol-containing filter ignites (gas or combi-
nation filter) resulting in occurrence of severe dangerous concentration of toxic substances.
- When using multiple filters, they have to be exchanges simultaneously.
- Carefully check the labelling of filters, which have to be used n connection with the blower and make sure that you do not
confuse the classification according to EN 12941 or EN 12942 with the classification of the blower according to other stan-
dards.
- A vacuum can occur in the headboard during the inhalation phase when the workload is extremely heavy, which enables
pollution to enter the headboard.
- The protection class might be lowered when the equipment is used in environments with high wind speeds.
- Filters must not be attached directly to the face shield or the breathing tube.
- Make sure that the breathing tube does not get caught in surrounding objects.
- The equipment may never be carried or lifted at the breathing tube.
- Before the application of the blower, a check of the minimum airflow volume should be conducted.
- Respiratory protection devices have to be selected based on type and concentration of the hazardous substances.
- Insufficient warning characteristics of hazardous substances require special rules of engagement.

2. Technical specification
Airflow
Airflow is at least 135 l/min at normal operations, which complies with the recommended minimum flow
of the manufacturer. The automatic flow control of the blower ensures constant flow during the whole
operation time.
At full-face mask operation, the Smartblower serves as breathing support and alerts when the battery is
almost discharged or the power supply can no longer be secured.

Battery

Standard, 11.25V, 2.95Ah, lithium-ions.
- The charging time for the battery is ca. 2 hours.
- The service time amounts to 300-500 charging cycles at least.
- The battery does not have to be discharged before charging.
Operating times
The operating times vary according to temperature and battery or filter condition.
The following table shows the expectable operating times under ideal conditions.

Shelf life
An appropriate stored, unused Smartblower is functional even after a long storage. However, consider
that the battery has to be charged at least once a year.

3. Application

3.1. Unpack

Inspect the equipment of completeness according to the packing list as well as potential trans-
portation damages.

3.2 Packing list

1. Blower + cable
4. Belt Standard or Smartbelt
3.3 Battery
New batteries are in sleep mode and have to be charged completely in the charger before use.
When the SVE/battery has not been used for a longer period of time it automatically turns into
sleep mode so that it is not discharged completely.
