CHECKING AND USING
Fits I-Beams from 76-255 mm(3"- 10") wide, up to 23mm thick
The beam anchor must be checked before each use. Check the beam anchor for the following;
Missing parts, such as screws

Excessive Rust

Any evidence of a fall

Any damage or bending of the fittings

Any tears or damage to the webbing.

That the wheel snap rings (cirplips) are well positioned, that the wheels remain in their housing and

they properly rotate.
Check the beam structure before use. Check for the following:
Adequate strength

Damage to the structure

Excessive Rust

 Open the Beam Clamp to itss maximum adjustment.
Push up the toggles on the springs to unlock theadjustable clamps.
Adjust the beam clamp to fit the beam in using the notches, making sure that the anchor point is in the
centre of the load bar.
The adjustable clamps must be locked into place.
Check the locking in pushing up the toggles, no movment should be possible.

The feet on adjustable clamp must sit on a clear surface. Remove dirt and grit if necessary.

Do not remove the end screws in order to prevent the adjustable clamps to slide off the end of the load bar.
Do not modify the load bar.
The anchorage point should be as close as practically possible to vertically above the place of work to reduce
the liability to swing. The user must not exceed an angle of 30°from the centre of the anchor beam.
If there is a lateral offset between the line from the anchorage point to the operator and the line or direction
of potential fall, in the event of a fall the operator may swing laterally.
When this cannot be avoided, minimize potential injury by:
Dual anchorage

Diversion anchor

Edge stops

The following warnings on fall risks must be provided to the operator.
The type of fall-arrest system attached to the anchorage point shall be compatible with the anchorage
strength.
