MATERIALS THAT CAN BE USED IN MICROWAVE OVEN
Always pay much attention to the materials of the utensils you desire
to use in your microwave oven.
As a matter of fact, there may be certain non-metallic utensils
which are not safe if used in microwave oven.
Microwave-safety is indicated by the symbol aside.
If in doubt, you can check if the utensil in question can be used in
microwave oven following the procedure below.
Utensil Test:
1. Fill a microwave-safe container with 1 cup of cold water (250 ml) along
with the utensil in question.
2. Cook on maximum power for 1 minute.
3. Check the utensil carefully. If it is warm, do not use it for microwave
cooking.

Shielding only. Small smooth pieces can be used to
cover thin parts of meat or poultry to prevent
overcooking. Arcing can occur if the foil is too close to
the oven walls. The foil should be at least 2.5 cm away
from the oven walls.
