USING THE SCANNER
The process of scanning is very simple and basically the same
every time. Here is a practice exercise to help you become com­
fortable options, see the Scan Mode chapter of The Touch-up
Manual.
Select a halftone or line art image from a magazine that you
would like to scan.
To scan an image, follow these instructions!
(1) Select the Letter setting (for line art) or one of the Photo
setting (for halftones) on the hand scanner.
(2) Set the DPI (Dots Per Inch) on the scanner to
100,200,300, or 400 DPI.
(3) Select the same DPI in Touch-up by clicking on the cor­
responding icon.
(4) Click on the Scan Area Setting icon
When the dialog box appears, select Full Width by click­
ing it on. Select 2 inch Maximum Height, by clicking it
on. Click on OK.
(5) Click on the Scan to Full icon.
This initiates a scan to full page, An alert box will ap­
pear that warns that scanning will destroy the current
image. Click on OK to proceed with scanning. Wait for
a few seconds until the scanning window light comes on.
