Mark the line of cut of the Iower links
(Fig. A).
Pay attention to length L (Fig. A/J).
Cut off the coupling elements.
Ensure that the angles shown are 90° for
the chosen width of spread (Fig. A/B).
CAUTIOIM
The original Iower link length
to the center of the pin must
be maintained!
2.2 Welding the Iower link hooks
- Tack-weld the Iower link hooks parallel
to the longitudinal axis of the tractor
(in driving direction) and perpendicular
to the Iower link, centered in relation to
the height of the link; refer to the center
mark provided on the hook (Fig. C).
- It is not necessary to dismantle the inner
parts of the hook!
- Check dimensions prior to final welding!
CAUTIOIM
Make sure that the Iower links are
identical in length and maintained
in perpendicular and parallel
alignment (Fig. B/C).
Take care to provide sufficient
clearance in the area of the tires!
- Prior to final welding, pre-heat the Iower
link ends to 200° to 400°C (400° to 750°F)
over a length of 100 mm (4") (annealing
colour blue to grey; Fig. C).
- Fill the welding groove between link
and hook by applying alternate passes of
heavy deep penetration welds.
2.3 Installing the spacer
- (Only for Cat. 1 to Cat. 3) Weld the spacer
lug attached to the spring to the left-hand
Iower link and the loosely attached spacer
lug to the right-hand Iower link - near to
the litt rods (Fig. D).
- If the tractor has a swinging drawbar fit
the spacer in a more distant Position from
the tractor.
- Where necessary, swing up the spacer
and park it in the support clip.
- For this purpose, the support clip has to
be attached to the left-hand litt rod.
2.4 Installing the spacer on
narrow track tractors
- Weld the two spacer lugs to the offset
sections of the Iower links (Fig. E).
- Where necessary, swing the spacer side-
ways towards the Iower link and place it
in the parking position.
- For this purpose, the support clip has to
be attached to the Iower link.
2.5 Release cord
- Attach the double eyes to the litt rods
in the upper third of their overall length
(Fig. F).
- Thread in the cord and attach it to the
actuation cover of the Iower link hook by
means of the spring hook.
CAUTIOIM
Ensure that the cord is free to move!
A taut cord will release the hook's
locking mechanism and may unhook
one or both sides of the implement!
- Attach the loose spring hook of the cord
near to the driver's seat or to the cab
back wall.
- Set the cord length by means of the
double clamp making sure that raising
and Iowering the Iower links still leave
free movement of the cord.
2.6 Preparing mounted
implements
Dependent on the version and category of
the implement pins (pin dia.), select the
appropriate ball guide cones or balls (with
adaptor balls if necessary) and push them
on the implement pins and install the hitch
pin securely (Fig. G). For excessive axial
clearance, place the balls between two
spacer washers.
For extremely heavy semi-mounted
implements, such äs semi-mounted
plows, balls plus clamp-type guide cones
should be used instead
of the Standard ball guide cone version.
CAUTION
Make sure that sufficient clearance
is provided for the Iower link hooks.
Modify the implement if necessary
to ensure this Situation.
