3. Operation
3.1 Setting the width of spread
- Disconnect the guide rod of the spacer
from the Iower link.
- Rotate the guide rod to set the spacer to
the width of spread of the implement.
- Attach the guide rod of the spacer to the
Iower link and secure it in this position.
3.2 Coupling
- Back up to the implement until the Iower
link hooks are positioned under the ball
guide cones.
- The upper centering guide (Fig. H ®)
allows easy alignment of the implement
where necessary.
- Raise the Iower links to engage the Iower
ball guide cones.
- For unbalanced implement weights or
offset coupling points on the implement,
it may be necessary to couple the top
link first.
CAUTION
Make sure that the locking
mechanism is engaged and locked!
3.3 Top link with hook
- Turn the screw adjuster to adjust the top
link to the appropriate length.
- Pull and hold the release cord to open
the top link hook.
- Engage the upper ball on the implement
by means of the hook.
- Release the cord.
CAUTION
Make sure that the locking mecha-
nism is engaged! Allow for sufficient
clearance in the tractor-side and im-
plement-side working zones. Do not
subject the top link to bending load.
- Adjust the length of the top link to the
working dimension.
3.4 Hydraulic top link
- Pull and hold the release cord to open the
top link hook.
- Adjust the required top link length by
actuating the control valve.
Engage the upper ball on the
implement by means of the hook.
Release the cord.
CAUTION
Make sure that the locking mecha-
nism is engaged! Allow for sufficient
clearance in the tractor-side and im-
plement-side working zones. Do not
subject the top link to bending load.
- Actuate the control valve to move
the top link into its Service or transport
Position.
3.5 Uncoupling
- Lower the implement to the ground.
CAUTION
A
Make sure that the implement
will stand safely (see implement
instructions)!
- With no load on the top link hook, use
the release cord to release the hook from
its locked position.
- Park the top link in the support clip.
- Use the release cord to unlock the Iower
hooks.
- Lower the Iower links until the hooks
are free.
Other connections between implement and
tractor must be handled independently of
the coupling and uncoupling processes.
3.6 Kick-down position
Some applications require a locked open
Position (kick-down position):
- Lift the actuation cover and move it
towards the Iower link (Fig. H).
- Close by pulling the release cord or by
striking againstthe actuation cover.
CAUTION
Never drive with the hooks in kick-
down position {open position)!
This may unhook one or both sides
of the implement!
