DESCRIPTION
The E2S Appello PIR Speech unit has the facility to record, store and playback a user defined message of up to 16
seconds. The Passive InfraRed detector (PIR) senses movement in its field of vision and plays the pre-recorded message. The
unit also has dual voltage outputs which can be used to switch on another device or to mointor when the message has been
triggered, (see Fig. 'PL3').
IMPORTANT:
AC units supply termination PCB is contained in the external enclosure.
CONNECT AC TO THIS PCB ONLY. THE COVER MUST BE REPLACED BEFORE OPERATION.
DAMAGE WILL OCCUR TO THE UNIT IF THE SUPPLIED VOLTAGE IS NOT WITHIN THE LIMITS SPECIFIED.
NOTE: DUE TO THE HIGH SENSITIVITY OF THE 'ON BOARD' MICROPHONE ENSURE ALL BACKGROUND NOISE IS KEPT
TO A MINIMUM DURING RECORDING.
RECORDING A MESSAGE OF UP TO 16 SECONDS.
•
Switch off the power supply and unplug the PIR cable from connector PL2
•
Select 'Record Mode' - link on PL2 set to 'REC'.
•
Switch on the power supply.
•
To record press the 'Push Switch' SW1 and hold while speaking into the microphone. Ensure that the message does
not exceed 16 seconds otherwise the part of the message after 16 seconds will not be recorded.
•
IF THE LED INDICATOR IS NOT ILLUMINATED AT THE END OF RECORDING: THE MESSAGE HAS EXCEEDED
A105N
16 SECONDS AND WILL NEED TO BE RECORDED AGAIN IN ORDER TO 'PLAY BACK'.

Switch on the power supply, the unit will play back the recorded message continuously.
•
The LED indicator will flash briefly to indicate the end of the message .
•
Switch off the power supply.
SETTING THE PIR FOR DETECTION.
•
Ensure the cable to the PIR is connected to PL2.
•
Switch on the power supply, allow 60 seconds for the PIR to calibrate to its surroundings.
•
When the PIR detects movement the recorded message will play.
•
The output voltages from PL3 will also be triggered for one message cycle (see Fig. PL3).
•
Output volume can be adjusted with potentiometer P1.
