In this position, you are able to interact with your child through sound, sight, and touch
while still having your hands free. Watch your baby for cues of distress or discomfort
and immediately take the baby out of the carrier if he/she continues to show signs of
discomfort.
Inspect the carrier regularly for any signs of wear, tear and damage. Check to assure all
buckles, snaps, straps, and adjustments are secure before each use. Check for ripped
seams, torn straps or fabric and damaged fasteners before each use. Discontinue use if
the baby carrier is damaged in any way.
Ensure proper placement of child in product including leg placement, according to
manufacturer's instructions for use. Check on the baby often. Ensure that the baby is
periodically repositioned.
Premature infants, infants with respiratory problems, and infants under 4 months are at
greatest risk of suffocation.
Your movement and the child's movement may affect your balance. Take care when
bending and leaning forwards or sideways.
Never use a soft carrier while engaging in activities such as cooking and cleaning, holding
hot drinks, etc. which involve a heat source or exposure to chemicals.
Be careful when drinking hot beverage to avoid spilling hot drinks onto baby while using
the carrier.
