General Instructions
Ensure that the unit is of correct voltage for your local electricity supply.
If a plug is not fitted connect the mains lead in line with the following
instructions. As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this
appliance may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying
the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows:
The wire which is coloured green and yellow must be connected to
the terminal in the plug which is marked with the letter E or by the
earth symbol, or coloured green or green and yellow.
the wire which is coloured blue must be connected to the terminal
which is marked with the letter N or coloured black.
the wire which is coloured brown must be connected to the
terminals which is marked with the letter L or coloured red.
Warning: This appliance must be earthed. The plug (or circuit)
should be fused to 3 Amps.
The units can be placed on the work bench or mounted onto a vertical
surface using 2 x no. 7 countersink - screws placed at 40mm centres.
Assemble the bench stand by sliding the upper section onto the base.
Affix the adhesive feet onto the underside of the base. Alternatively the
stand can be screwed down to the work surface using the two holes
provided, (omitting the metal plate). Dampen the sponge as the iron
heats up, wipe it with fluxed solder. Should the tip not "wet", wipe it
gently when cold with a non-metallic scouring pad and try again. Keep
the bit clean by regular wiping on the damp sponge.
Note: The tip of the soldering iron is earthed through the station and
mains lead to the earth on the electrical circuit supplying the
power socket.
