Sigma Extens is an extension module for the Sigma Mod rack version.
It is to be installed in a 19" cabinet that provides mechanical, electrical, fire,
water and dust protection (pollution level II max.).
1 - ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION
Connect the main power 230 V 50/60Hz or TBT* 24Vdc (Fig. 1).
The 230 Vac power line of this device must be protected by a 6A circuit
breaker rapidly accessible.
All cables must be attached to the frame of the cabinet before being
connected to the various terminals blocks. This is to prevent any strain on
these terminal blocks. In addition, the wires of each circuit must be attached
to one another near the terminal block to keep from shorting if one should
come loose.
Connect the RS485 output (COM RT- RT+) to terminals 22 and 23 of the
Sigma (Fig. 2).
2 - OPERATION

Note the limitation on the number of 24V // cards, see table in fig. 3.
- The TBT 24Vdc version can handle 4 cards.
- Sigma P and Mod (110/230 Vac) are limited to one 24V// option card or to
a current capacity of 1A.
2 Possibilities :
1- Use the 24 V//, 0.5A output of the Sigma and one 24v// option
card with DIP switch on 0.5A (total 1A).
2- Leave the Sigma 24V// output unused and use the 24 V// option
card with the DIP switch on 1A (total 1A).
