PUTTING INTO OPERATION
Mains
Upon delivery the stabilizer is adjusted to a mains voltage of 220 V or 237 V. In order to adjust it to
1 10 V or 127 V, remove the connection between B and C, while terminals A and C must be connected
to terminals B and D respectively. See fig. la and ]b.
Earth
The stabilizer must be earthed via earthing screw "~" at the rear next to the terminal block.
Cooling
Cooling happens by natural air circulation. [n case of building-in in an electrical or electronic apparatus
the air circulation may not be hindered.
OPERATION
Adjusting the output voltage.
Upon delivery the stabilizer is adjusted to an output voltage of 12 V.
Adjusting to a higher voltage is done with R22 (fig. 6).
To determine the value of R22, apply the formula
V
34. i
2
kSt.
u —
Vu is the required output voltage in volts. See also characteristic fig. 7.
At an output voltage lower than 12 V to 2 V minimum, the value of R8 must be reduced.
With a resistor circuit connected to the terminal block the output voltage can also be adjusted exter-
nally (see fig. 2). This adjustment is not linear.
Note: No connection of this circuit may be interrupted during operation, because the output voltage
could become too high.
Load
The load is connected to terminals "+" and " " of the terminal block. Terminal "+" or "—" can
possibly be connected to the frame.
Remote sensing (fig. 3)
To avoid adjusting errors with long cables remote sensing is used. The solderings between "+" and 2,
and "—" and 4 must, therefore be replaced by two resistors of each 47 St.
The voltage loss in the current cable to the load may not exceed 0.5 V.
Twist or screen the extra wires from terminals 2 and 4 to "+" and "—" respectively.
External switching of the output voltage (remote on/off-control)
The output voltage can be switched on or off (fig. 4a and 4b) by connecting externally a contact or a
transistor (e.g. BC107) to terminals 1 and "—".
When the contact is closed, the output voltage is 0 V. The maximum value of the switching current is
20 mA.
Current limitation (fig. 10)
Upon delivery the current limitation is adjusted to 0.55 A (this value applies at an ambient tempera-
ture of 25 °C).
