DIFFERENCES BETWEEN MANUAL AND
AUTOMATIC MEASUREMENT
Internal analysis have shown that manual measuring methods generate a lot of
errors. Each employe executes the measurement in a slighty different way and
places the measuring points differently. Many measuring systems use cameras
with 1.3 or 3.0 Megapixel. This means that a measuring point is approx. 0.015 to
0.04 mm. Having an average misinterpretation level of 3 to 4 pixels, the result is
an error in the tolerances of up to 0.16 mm at each measurement. In the fi eld of
high quality saws, measurements are made within the 0.01 mm area. This proves
that manual measuring shows too much deviation. SawControl 800V3 uses mea-
suring points smaller than 5/1000, therefore resulting in an optimum of values.

SawControl 800 V3 is much more precise than manual measuring. We achieve an
accuracy of below 5/1000.
Measurement with manual device
Because of tolerances occuring, no exact measurement is possible. Even when
adjusting the values (e.g. zoom), the tolerances are still too high in order to get a
precise measurement.

AVOID MISINTERPRETATION
When combining the top view of bevel angle and hook angle, a face angle appe-
ars. But this is an optical distortion resulting in a misinterpretation and an incor-
rect measurement. The newly developted iBlade 3D measurement recognizes
the geometry and corrects distortions. Thus, ensuring an optimum of measuring
values.
