The KVK kit of the ON/OFF motorized 2-way valve allows to adjust
the ambient temperature by interrupting the flow of water
through the heat exchanger.
Once mounted, the installation heights of the 2-way valves need to
correspond to the values shown in figure 5a.
Key to figure 5a:
1 = Additional FW battery water outlet
2 = Standard FW battery water inlet
The kit consists of:

Two-way brass valve with a maximum operating pressure of 16
bar.
!
Electrothermal actuator, 230 V power supply, ON/OFF action,
total opening time 4 minutes.
!
Brass 90° curved fitting to install the valve on the
heat exchanger.
The pressure drops of the valve/hydraulic connecting unit
are calculated with this formula:

Installation

Install the valves as shown in the figures:
Figure 5b: assembly of the kit, 2-pipe systems, left connections
Figure 5c: assembly of the kit, 4-pipe systems, left connections

Wire the cables of the valve on the terminal board in the
designated positions (refer to the manual of the control used for
the electrical connections).

Conduct the electrical connection to the control panel by
following the instructions reported on the unit's installation
manual.

Description (see fig. 6a)
The actuator is an electronic device powered at 24V with 0-10V. yes
It has small overall dimensions that allow to install it in tight spaces,
the actuator can be coupled to compatible valve bodies, it does not
require any hydraulic work (emptying the system) and is easy to
operate.
An LED light allows to immediately view the operating mode (On, Off,
end-of-travel, antilocking) of the actuator.

Operation

The actuator is operated through the rotation of a small shaft, which is
driven in both directions by a series of gears.
In turn, these are driven by a bidirectional synchronous motor via a
magnetic coupling that limits the transmitted torque and, as a result,
also the linear force output.
The actuator is secured to the valve body (Fig 6b) with a threaded
ring nut.
The movement of the actuator is transmitted to the valve rod through
axial contact and is kept constant through a spring positioned in the
valve body.
This way, the opening and closing forces of the valve are obtained
in one direction thanks to the thrust of the actuator (Fs opens way B,
Fig.6c) and in the other direction by the force of the spring (Fm opens
way A, Fig.6c) placed inside the valve itself.
If the actuator is removed from the valve body, the valve remains
open.
