TROUBLE SHOOTING

If a fault occurs, first check the points listed below before taking the set for repair. Do not open the set as
there is a risk of electric shock.
If you are unable to remedy the problem by following these hints, call service and support at the phone
number shown below.
Warning: Under no circumstances should you try to repair the set yourself, as this will invalidate the
warranty
Problem
No sound / power
No display, no reaction
Poor cassette sound quality
Recording does not work
The CD skips tracks
"ND" is indicated on the display
CD playback does not work
USB / Memory card failure

Cause
Power cord not plugged-in.
electrostatic discharge
Dust and dirt on the head, etc.
incompatible cassette type used
Cassette's tab might be broken;
wrong cassette used
CD damaged or dirty
A program is active
There is no CD in the CD tray.
CD badly scratched or dirty.
Laser lens has steamed up
CD-R is blank or the disc is not "final-
ized"
CD badly scratched or dirty
Laser lens steamed up
connecting error
USB device does not contain playable
files

Solution
Plug in power cord.
unplug and re-plug appliance
Cleaning.
Only use IEC I (Normal) type for record-
ing.
Before you cover the hole with a tape
check again, whether this is the tape you
want to overwrite.
Over writing can't be undone.
Replace or clean CD
leave the program
Insert a CD.
Replace or clean CD.
Wait until lens has cleared
Use a finalized CD-R
Replace or clean CD
Wait until lens has cleared
Unplug and reinsert memory card or USB
stick
Use a USB / Memory Card containing
MP3 or WMA files
