• Do not expose the batteries to extreme condi-
tions (e.g. radiators or direct sunlight). Other-
wise there is an increased risk of leakage.
• Batteries can be life-threatening if swallowed.
Therefore, always store them out of reach
of small children. Medical attention must be
sought immediately if a battery has been
swallowed.
Danger!
• Handle damaged or leaking batteries with
extreme caution and dispose of them properly as
soon as possible. Wear gloves when doing so.
• If you come into contact with battery acid,
wash the affected area with soap and water.
If battery acid gets in your eye, rinse it with
water and seek medical attention immediately!
• The connection terminals must not be short-cir-
cuited.

Inserting batteries

WARNING! Observe the following
instructions to avoid mechanical and
electrical damage.
Before using the item for the first time, insert the
batteries (included).
1. Remove the waste-bin lid (1) and remove
the battery compartment lid (1a), which can
be found on the bottom of the waste-bin lid
(Fig. B).
2. Carefully insert the batteries (4) into the
battery compartment (1b). The batteries must
be inserted into the battery compartment
completely (Fig. C).
Note: Check the plus/minus poles of the batter-
ies and insert them correctly.
3. Replace the battery compartment lid (1a) onto
the bottom of the waste-bin lid (1) again and
replace the waste-bin lid onto the waste-bin.

Replacing the batteries

WARNING! Observe the following
instructions to avoid mechanical and
electrical damage.
Should the batteries no longer function properly,
replace them as described in the insertion
instructions. Remove the batteries in the item
before inserting new ones.

Operation

You can open the item via its sensor, by touching
it, or manually. For the first two options, you
need to switch the item on first.
Note: Remove the protective foil before using
the item.
Switching the item on and off
(Fig. D)
• Press the switch (1c) to "I" to turn the item on.
• Press the switch (1c) to "O" to turn the item
off.
Opening by touching (Fig. E)
1. Switch the item on as described in the section
"Switch the item on and off".
2. Touch the sensor area "Open" (1e) to open
the item.
3. Touch the sensor area "Close" (1d) to close
the item.
Opening without touching (Fig. F)
1. Switch the item on as described in the section
"Switch the item on and off".
2. Move your hand above the sensor area (1d)
(1e) to activate the sensor. The waste-bin lid
(1f) opens.
Note: The time counts down on the display (1f)
from 5 to 0.
3. The waste-bin lid automatically closes after
5 seconds.
Opening manually
1. Switch the item off as described in the section
"Switch the item on and off".
2. Pull the lid up to open the item.
3. Let go of the lid to close the item.

Storage, cleaning

Always store the item clean and dry at room
temperature without the batteries.
Only clean the item with a damp cloth and wipe
dry afterwards. Rinse the inner bin with water
(with the lid removed).
IMPORTANT! Never clean the item with harsh
cleansing agents.
