SAFETY REGULATIONS

Warning:
When using any electrical appliance, basic safety precautions should always be observed. The
following instructions need to be observed to reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, or injury.
General
1. Read this user manual carefully before you use this device and keep it for future reference.
2. Use this device only as described in this user manual.
3. Check if the voltage indicated on the device corresponds to the local voltage before you
connect the device.
4. Always use an earthed socket.
5. Check the device regularly for damage. Do not use the device in case the power cord or plug
is damaged, or when any component of the device has been dropped or damaged. If the
power cord is damaged, you must have it replaced by Van den Berg Products or a service
centre authorized by Van den Berg Products in order to avoid safety hazards.
6. Do not try to remove possible blockages with sharp objects, as this may cause damage to
the device.
7. This device is not intended for use by children or persons with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given
supervision or instruction regarding the use of the device by a person responsible for their
safety. Careful supervision is required if the device is used near children, pets or plants.
8. Do not allow children to play with the packaging wrapper. When playing with it, they may
catch themselves and suffocate.
9. Do not leave the device unattended when the plug is in the socket. Always take the plug
from the socket when you fill or empty the device or when you are not using the device.
10. Never pull the power cord to disconnect the plug from the socket; instead, hold the plug
and gently pull to disconnect.
11. See to it during use that the power cord is in such a position that no one can trip over it and
that the power cord cannot get under the device.
12. Do not use the device with an extension cord, unless this extension cord has been checked
and tested by a qualified mechanic.
13. Do not pull or carry the device by its power cord and do not use the power cord as a handle.
Do not close the door on the power cord or pull it around sharp edges or corners.
14. Keep the device, the plug and the power cord away from open flames and hot surfaces.
15. Make sure the device is completely cooled down before attaching or removing accessories
or before storing the device. Loosely wind the power cable around the cord clips on the
handle when you store it away. Always store the device indoors.
16. Never immerse the device and/or the power cord in water or other liquids.
17. Never attempt to grasp an electric device if it has fallen in water or other liquids. In such a
case, immediately disconnect the plug.
18. Do not touch the device or the plug with wet hands. Do not operate the device without
wearing shoes.
19. Do not use any accessories that are not recommended by the supplier; especially those
accessories that have not been supplied with the device.
20. Do not use the device to clean windows, walls, ceiling or electrical devices.
21. Never use the device in rooms where certain vapors may be present (thinner, combustible
materials, paint and lacquers on an oil basis, combustible liquids and gases). Risk of
explosion.
22. Do not use the device on stairs.
23. Always check whether the water tank is intact and whether it has been mounted on the
device in the proper manner.
24. This device is only intended for domestic use, NOT for industrial use.
25. Damage caused by improper use of steam on objects, materials, persons and/or animals or
by not observing the instructions in these directions for use is excluded from guarantee.
