INTRODUCTION
The 5882EUH RF Transceiver is
Control/Communicators that support the transceiver connection via the
remote keypad connection points. The transceiver recognizes alarm, status
and 5839H keypad control messages from 5800H series wireless
transmitters operating at 868.950 MHZ. These messages are processed
and relayed to the control panel via a 4-wire connection to the control's
remote keypad terminals.
The number of transmitters that a transceiver can support depends on the
control with which it is used. See the control's instructions for specific
details.
Several individually identified transceivers can be used, depending on the
control used. Connection of multiple transceivers to a control can be made
for redundant coverage or for extended coverage of large areas. Multiple
transceivers do not increase the number of transmitters that the system
can support. See the control's instructions regarding the number of
transceivers and keypads that can be supported.
The 5882EUH features a Spatial Diversity antenna system which virtually
eliminates the possibility of "Nulls" and "Dead Spots" within the coverage
area. In addition, the 5882EUH includes a very selective RF helical filter to
reduce the possibility of interference. The antennas are located inside the
tamper-protected polycarbonate housing.
5839H KEYPADS: You must remove the 5882EUH cover before enrolling
the 5839H keypad. Each 5839H keypad may be enrolled in only one
5882EUH.
PRELIMINARY
The instruction manual that accompanies
recommendations regarding transceiver and transmitter locations, the
types of wireless zones that can be programmed (e.g. ENTRY/EXIT,
INTERIOR, PERIMETER, ETC.), and the procedure for enabling the
control's appropriate program fields (e.g., "Enrolling" the 5800H
Transmitters' IDs, setting Report Codes, etc.).
Note: If a 5882EUH Transceiver is connected to a system in which more
than the permitted number of wireless zones have been attempted to be
programmed, a "SET UP ERROR" (e.g. "E4") display may result on the
system's keypad and none of these zones will be protected.
INSTALLATION
The transceiver should not be installed in an area subject to environmental
extremes of below freezing temperatures (such as an unheated
warehouse) or extremely high temperatures (such as an attic).
Avoid mounting the transceiver against a metal surface.
1. Remove the transceiver's cover by inserting and twisting a screwdriver
blade in the slot at the center of the cover's lower edge.
2. a. If concealed wiring is to be used, it should be routed through the
rectangular opening at the rear of the base before mounting. For
surface wiring entry, cut away one of the thin wall sections located
on the left, right, and bottom edges of the cover.
b. Mount the transceiver in the selected location. For greatest
security, use all four mounting holes (two keyslot holes and two
round holes) provided in the base.
Wall Removal Tamper: If wall removal tamper protection is
desired, mount a screw through the hole in the breakaway tamper
release tab located on the base.
c. Affix the transceiver's Summary of Connections label to the inside
of the housing cover.
3. Set the transceiver's DIP switch to identify the transceiver's address
and mode of operation as indicated in the table in the Diagram below.

INTRODUCCION
El transceptor 5882EUH RF ha sido diseñado para ser utilizado con
Control/Comunicadores que sean compatibles con la conexión de
transceptores a través de los puntos de conexión de la consola remota. El
receptor reconoce mensajes de alarma, de estado y de control de consola
de los transmisores vía radio de la serie 5800H que funcionan a 868.950
Mhz. Estos mensajes son procesados y retransmitidos al panel de control

El 5882EUH se caracteriza por un Sistema de antena de Diversidad
Espacial la cual elimina virtualmente la posibilidad de "Nulos" y "Puntos

filtro helicoidal RF selectivo para reducir la posibilidad de interferencias.

Consolas 5839H: Debe retirar la cubierta del 5882EUH antes de registrar

PRELIMINAR
El manual de instrucciones que acompaña al control/comunicador incluye
recomendaciones sobre las ubicaciones de los transceptores y

procedimiento para habilitar los campos de programación del control

Nota: Si se conecta un transceptor 5882EUH a un sistema en el cual se
ha intentado programar más números de zonas vía radio que el permitido,
resultará en un mensaje en la pantalla de la consola de "SET UP ERROR"
(EJ "E4) y ninguna de estas zonas estará protegida.
INSTALACION
El transceptor no debe instalarse en un área que este sujeta a variaciones
ambientales extremas de temperaturas inferiores a 0º (como un almacén
sin calefacción) o temperaturas extremadamente altas (como un ático).
Evite montar el transceptor en una superficie metálica.
1. Retire la tapa del transceptor insertando un destornillador en la
ranura situada en el centro de la esquina inferior de la tapa.
2. a. Si desea utilizar cableado, deberá dirigir los cables a través de la
apertura rectangular en la parte trasera de la base antes de montar
la unidad. Para introducir los cables en el montaje en superficie,
cortar una de las secciones más estrechas localizadas a la
izquierda, derecha, y en las esquinas inferiores de la cubierta.
b. Monte el transceptor en el lugar seleccionado. Para más seguridad,
utilice los cuatro agujeros de montaje (dos agujeros circulares y
dos tipo llave) existentes en la base.
Antisabotaje contra Retirada de Pared: Si desea protección
antisabotaje contra retirada de pared, introduzca un tornillo a través

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
4. Connect the transceiver's 4 wires to the control's corresponding
designed for use with remote keypad connection points and make sure that the wiring plug is
inserted in its socket on the right side of the transceiver's circuit board.
5. Mount either the bent interior antennas (per the diagram) for
CENELEC and local regulatory compliance or the straight exterior
protruding antennas for maximum sensitivity (range).
6. Replace the transceiver's cover and secure with a screw through the
locking tab at the bottom of the cover.
7. Proceed with the installation of the system's wireless transmitters as
described in the control's installation instructions. This should include
the Go/No Go test (to check signals received from the transmitter
locations).
LED INDICATIONS
RF Activity LED: When lit, this LED indicates strong local radio frequency
interference. If continuously lit, the transceiver should be relocated.
CPU Fail LED: If lit, the unit's micrprocessor must be reset by disconnecting
the wiring plug, waiting 5 seconds, then reconnecting the wiring plug.
HIGH SECURITY KEYS & WIRELESS KEYPADS
Depending on the control panel used, the 5882EUH can support up to 16
high-security (encrypted) wireless keys and up to 16 wireless keypads
(e.g., 5839H). See the Control's instructions and the appropriate device
instructions for enrolling high security keys and wireless keypads.
Checking Available Space for High Security Keys
The RED LED (above the DIP switch) shows (by blinking) how many high-
security keys may be enrolled into the transceiver.
1. Remove power from the transceiver and set DIP switches:
the control includes
DIP 1 = ON; DIP 8 = OFF
2. Apply power and observe one of the following RED LED indications:
a. Blinks, indicating the number of available spaces for additional
high-security key enrollment, and then lights steady ON.
b. Immediate Steady ON (no blinks), indicating that high-security key
enrollment is full.
c. Off, indicating that no encrypted keys are enrolled.
3. Set DIP switch 1 back to the OFF position to return to normal receiver
operation (leave DIP 8 in OFF position).
Deactivating High-Security keys
This procedure deactivates all enrolled high-security keys. Use only if
replacing previously enrolled high-security keys and there is not enough
available space left for them in the receiver. Once this procedure is
performed, all desired high-security keys must be re-enrolled to activate
high-security operation.
1. Remove power from the transceiver and set DIP switches as in step 1
of Checking Available Space procedure above.
2. Apply power and wait until the RED LED lights steady ON then:
a. Record the positions of DIP switches 1 through 8.
b. Set DIP switches 1 through 8 to the opposite positions of their
current settings and wait a few moments.
c. Set DIP switches 1 through 8 back to their original positions as
recorded in step "a." All enrolled high-security keys will be
deactivated.
3. Set DIP switch 1 back to the OFF position to return to normal receiver
operation (leave DIP 8 in OFF position).
Removing All Wireless Keypads
This procedure removes all wireless keypads from the transceiver.
1. Remove power from the transceiver and set DIP switches:
DIP 1 = OFF; DIP 8 = ON
2. Apply power and wait until the RED LED lights steady ON, then:
a. Record the positions of DIP switches 1 through 8.

transmisores)
INDICADORES LED
LED de Actividad RF: Si está iluminado, este LED indica que existe una
interferencia de radio frecuencia local fuerte. Si se ilumina de manera
constante, deberá reubicar el transceptor.
LED de Fallo CPU: Si está iluminado el microprocesador de la unidad
deberá resetearse desenchufando el conector, esperando 5 segundos, y
volviendo a enchufar el conector.
LLAVES DE ALTA SEGURIDAD Y CONSOLAS VÍA RADIO
Dependiendo del panel de control usado, la 5882EUH puede soportar
hasta 16 llaves vía radio de alta seguridad (encriptadas) y hasta 16
consolas vía radio (p.ej. 5839H). Refiérase a las instrucciones de la central
y las instrucciones del dispositivo para los procedimientos de registrar
llaves de alta seguridad y consolas vía radio.

recorded in step a. All enrolled wireless keypads will be removed
from the transceiver.
3. Set DIP switch 8 back to the OFF position to return to normal receiver

NOTE: If unsure that correct RF keypad (5839H) addresses are enabled in
the receiver, you should perform the RF keypad delete procedure, then
enable RF keypad addresses as described in the instructions included with
the RF keypad. Otherwise, erroneous keypad bus device "fault" messages
may occur.
