3. Use of the appliance

3.1. Before the first use
1. Before first use, remove all plastic bags, boxes and paper protecting the toaster. Never leave
plastic bags within the reach of children.
2. Completely unwind the power cord and plug the toaster into a properly grounded wall
socket.
3. Operate the toaster without bread and turn the thermostat knob to the maximum setting to
burn off all manufacturing residue present in the appliance. Slight fumes may then be
emitted. Ensure that the room is well-ventilated during this procedure.
